Doritos and Guns

"What do you mean I can't go to Seven Eleven? I'm twenty one years old, Grandma!"

My grandmother sighed and reached across the table to clasp her hand around mine.

"Honey, you know how it is at night around here"

She had a point, but all I wanted was a goddamn bag of Doritos.

"Grandma, I'll be extra careful. C'mon, I think I'm old enough to go to a gas station"

She let go of my hand a rose to her feet.

"I suppose it would be okay if you went by yourself"

I grinned and jumped up. Grabbing my car keys, I started towards the door.

"Can I go too?"

A small voice piped up behind me. It was my seven year old sister, Adeline.

"Addie, I think you should stay with me until Teagan gets back. She won't be long and we can play checkers until then"

Her face lit up and she ran off to the family room to grab the checkers board.

Once I stepped outside I realized that I wasn't dressed appropriately for the cool night air since I was wearing ripped jeans and a tank top.

My car door unlocked and I hopped inside, eager to turn the heat on. Feeling the warm air circulating through the car, I pulled out of the driveway and onto the road.

There wasn't as much illegal activity going on as there normally is. I didn't really make anything of it until I reached our local Seven Eleven and discovered that they were closed.

Since when is Seven Eleven closed at 7:00? My eyebrows furrowed at the 'CLOSED' sign on the door.

The sound of voices made my ears perk up. I began slowly walking towards the sounds.

'It's probably just the employees unloading a shipment or something' I thought. However, I kept inching my way around the side of the building.

Just as I reached the corner of the wall I felt a hand wrap around my mouth.

"Tsk tsk tsk. What's a pretty little lady like you doing in a place like this?"
A gruff voice whispered.

Panicking, I bit the person's hand and heard him yell.

"Gahh! You're gonna get it now you little bi-"

He didn't get to finish his sentence before I kneed him right where the sun doesn't shine.

Not knowing what else to do, I ran out into and opening where what seemed like a moving truck was located.

There were three figures standing by the truck, and from the looks of it they knew I was there.

One of the figures pulled out a pistol and aimed it at me. Just fucking great. I'm going to die just because I wanted a bag of Doritos.

My eyes widened and I put my hands above my head. Natural reflex I guess.

The figure with a gun shouted at me.

"What are you doing?! Move!"

I barely dove off to the side when bullets started flying towards the man I bit and some other peoplein the shadows.

I was in the middle of a gang war. And I'm sure that no matter which gang wins, I'm probably going to be killed.

*Aleks*

There's no sign of the AK's yet. Those assholes wait until you think you're safe and then they attack.

"We might just get away with this"

"Nah, they'll be here soon. Just you wait, James"

Seamus hardly speaks but he's one of the gang's most valued members. Next to me of course. I was basically a hit man. Say there's someone you absolutely hate and can't wait to get rid of. Just pay me my desirable price and boom, that person's gone without a trace.

I didn't exactly enjoy what I did but it has to be done so I go along with it.

"Hey, did you guys hear that?"
James whispered

All three of us listened closely for a sign that the AKs were here.

Sure enough, we heard a yell and saw a girl sprint out of the ally leading to the truck.

I whipped out my gun and aimed it. Not at the girl, of course, but at the people behind her. They were unmistakably the AK Locos.

The poor girl put her hands above her head and I rolled my eyes. "What are you doing? Move!"

She dove out of the way just as I pulled the trigger. James and Seamus quickly joined in and repetitively shot at the rival gang.

"They're overpowering us! Just grab as many boxes as you can and go!"

I continued shooting while James and Seamus grabbed boxes.

"Let's go!"

We began running. When we reached the girl, I stopped.

"Get up and follow us"

When she stared at me too shocked to say anything, I rolled my eyes and pulled her up.

Then we raced back to our car.
