Above us is a massive gaping hole in our world.
We see nothing.
All that there is are blurs of colour, something that draws you in, or something that pushes you away.
We are happy when it's empty and we complain when the nothing and it's blurry friend, who no one can bear to look at, are obstructed by more nothing of a different light frequency.
We gaze longingly at the blurry friend's clear twin, as it draws us in, with a spotlight stolen from them. For half of our lives we see an invisible barrier, blocking our sight to the the truth of what is out there.
We see miles here and nothing there.
And people walk. For half of our lives we see through it to an endless mass of nothing and we rejoice in the specks of something that dot the way.
We see miles there and nothing here.
And people hide away.
