Happy Birthday Mummy!

Shailene's POV

I'm awakened by soft giggles through the door. I yawn and hope to feel Theo's warmth beside me but sadly he's not there. I hear his voice add to the noise outside my door.

Just as I'm about to get up the door bursts open and my 6 year old twins and 2 year old daughter along with my husband, walk in. They start singing a chorus of happy birthday.

That's when I remember, today is November 15th. In other words, it's my 35th birthday.

I laugh as they sing and as they sing they come and jump on to the bed with me.

"Happy Birthday Mummy!" Ava says and gives me a sloppy kiss on the cheek. Zach then came up to me and did the same. Theo walked over carrying Flo and he kissed me on the forehead before dropping Flo in to my lap. I kissed Flo on the forehead before noticing that Theo is carrying presents in his arms.

"Happy Birthday Love" Theo says with a smile and I look up to him with a smile on my face aswell. He bends down and gives me a quick peck on the lips.

I budge over and Theo sits on the edge of the bed and passes me a present. The twins are looking at me with excitment in their eyes, I can't help but laugh at the look of awe on their faces. Flo is just sitting there looking around the room with wonder.

I look down at the first present and it is a cube shaped, it has pink wrapping paper and I imediately guess that its from Ava. I look at the tag which Theo has written and as I thought it says Ava. I open it slowly just to annoy the kids, and when I open it there is a cute little wodden box that has been painted in lots of bright colours. "Thank you Ava! I love it!" I said with a smile and kissed her on the cheek.

I opened the rest of my gifts which were from Zach, My family and all my friends which only left one more person, Theo.

He handed me an envelope and a box, "Happy Birthday love." I kissed him on the cheek before opening the envelope inside it there was a card it read:

Dear Shailene,

Thank you for being the most loving and caring wife and mother in the world. You put a smile on mine and the kid face everyday and I honestly don't know what I would do without you. I can't believe you are only turning 35, you better find yourself a new boy toy I'm too old for you. Anyways Happy Birthday Shai and be ready at 6pm on the dot.

I look up and see Theo smiling at me and waiting patiently for me to open the box. I grin at him before slowly opening the lid of the box.

Inside there are 4 bracelets, each of them have a name of my family member. So one says Ava, one says Zach, one Flora and of course one Theo. They are made of stainless steel and are very beautiful.

My throat chokes up and I look up at Theo with tears in my eyes. "Thank you Theo they are gorgeous." I lean up and peck him on the lips, I pull away reluctantly reminding myself that the kids are still in the room.

I look at myself in the mirror and think 'Thats as good as it's gonna get'. I sigh and look at myself quickly before grabbing my purse and going out the room.

I'm wearing a coral colored high-lo dress and sandals on my feet. My makeup is light and I have on the 4 bracelets Theo gave me this morning as well as of course my engagement and wedding rings. I also have a black channel purse slinged along my shoulder.

I walk down the stairs and see Theo standing there with a bouquet of flowers in his hands and wearing a suit. He took the kids to his parents house tonight so that we have the house to ourselves.

He hands me the flowers and kisses me softly on the lips as he pulls away he whispers "Oh my you look dazzling tonight Mrs Tapitkilis"

I reply "You don't scrub up to badly either Mr Tapitkilis" I grab my hand in his and he opens the door for me and leads me to the car.

Soon we arrive at the restaurant and order our food. The meal passes quickly and we chat about lots of different things. Soon we leave the restaurant got home and the things we did there weren't exactly PG rated ;) Happy Birthday to me!
