I explored everywhere and anywhere. I flew from burgess to the town I woke up in, to the middle of no where. I thought about all that has happened in the past few days. I enjoyed the alone time a little, although my first encounter with being alone after I woke up wasn't too pleasent.
It got dark out after a few hours, I decided to stop and rest in a tree. I stared up at the night sky dreamily, sighing The stars are beautiful... I thought. I drifted off to sleep, my wings wrapped around myself.
I was alone in the darkness, I whipped my head from side to side, "Hello?!" I called out.
All of the sudden, Jack appeared. He was chained up, he hung his head.
I blinked, fear blooming in my chest, "Jack...?" I began to run to him. More chains appeared out of thin air and wrapped around me, yanking me backwards and making me slam into an unseen wall. I struggled, my heart beginning to skip.
I saw a pair of birght orange eyes, they burned into my skin. "Who are you?" I demanded, struggling against my restraints.
"Your worst nightmare, my dear." He cooed, a sharp-toothed grin glowing under his eyes. A shadow appeared, showing me the stranger's sillouette. He slithered over to jack, moving silently. He pulled out a torch, the flames casting frightening shadows upon everything. He moved towards Jack, holding the fire to him. Jack looked weak, he struggled against the chains.
"NO!" I screamed, pulling so hard against the chains that my arms began to bleed.
The unknown man lit Jack on fire, Jack howled with pain. Tears streamed down my face, "JACK! NO STOP PLEASE! JACK!" I shrieked.
"There's no stopping me, Katrina." The stranger suddenly was right in front of me, holding my face and forcing me to look at him. I could see some features on his face because of the flames,he had grey skin, pointed teeth and a long face with black hair that hung a little over his orange eyes. I tried to jerk my head away but he gripped my jaw so hard I thought it would break, "Your little guardians are going to pay for what they did." He hissed.
I woke up with a cry, tears rolling down my cheeks. I sat there, trembling and breathing hard. I heard someone land near the tree I was in, I looked down. It was Jack.
"Kat? Kat are you still here?" He called, I realized that I had came to sleep at the same place Jack left earlier.
I glided out of the tree, landing in front of Jack. He smiled at me a little, but then his face fell. I could still she the flames licking up his body, could still hear his screams.
"What's wrong, did something happen?" He said, taking a step towards me.
I didn't think, I threw my arms around him, never wanting him to leave again. "Jack...I'm so glad you're okay..." I whispered.
He tensed up as I hugged him, "Why wouldn't I be okay? I was only gone for a little while..." He said, obviously embarrassed.
I jumped away from him, my eyes locke on the ground, "Jeez, I'm such a baby. I'm sorry about that...I just...Had a nightmare..." I mumbled.
His gaze softened, "I'm guessing I was in the nightmare?" he asked.
I nodded, "There was some guy, he...Killed you." I winced, his cries echoing in my head.
"Was it the guy who killed you?" Jack asked, looking at me with sympathy.
"No, it was someone I've never seen before. He had orange eyes and his skin was gray...He mentioned the guardians...Who are they?" I looked up at him.
Jack's bue eyes went wide, if he could get any paler he would have, "Orange eyes, black hair? British accent?" he asked.
I raised an eyebrow, "Uh....Yeah...How did you know that?"
"Night Terror... " Jack breathed, "He found you..."
