It's been a week since the attack on Miromara. There was nothing anybody could do about the prisoners until Sera wakes up. Des tightened security to prevent another attack like this to happen until Sera woke up.

Most of everyone's days consisted of fixing the palace, and city, or helping other merfolk. But not Mahdi's.

He knew that he would have to leave soon to return to his home. To claim his throne like Sera would have to if she were to wake. Mahdi spent his days down in the infirmary holding Sera's hand. Praying to the Gods that she would wake soon. He needed her, and she needed him. There was no doubt about it. The entire time Mahdi sat by Sera he kept telling himself if he was just quicker, if he would've gotten there sooner. Would she still be laying in that bed? Would she be on the verge of death? That is if she isn't already dead?

It wasn't until a week of sitting by Sera's side that all of Mahdi's friends had to pry him away from her. So he could eat, sleep, and have a normal routine again. When this happened it was terrible for the girls to do.

Neela burst through the door with Des in tow. "I've had it Mahdi. You have sat down here moping for the past week. It is driving me insane. You are sickly pale, incredibly thin, incredibly tired, and you smell like a rotter. You need to move away from Sera for a while," she practically yelled at her older cousin.

"I know but-," Mahdi was cut off.

"No but's dude. For once I agree with Neela on this. I miss my little sister just as much as you do. But you have taken it to the extreme. Just spend one day away from her. Eat food, sleep, and actually bathe. You smell terrible," Des said from behind Neela.

"But I can't. I want to be there if she wakes up."

"I know you do. Which is why while you eat, sleep, and bathe I'll look after her. I'll tell you anything that happens if anything happens at all. Then we can do something."

Mahdi gave a long look back at Sera. He squeezes her hand, and let go. He turned away from her to fully face her cousin, and best friend. "Fine," He said caving. "One day away from her. That's it."

"That's all we're asking."

Mahdi looked at Sera one last time before following his cousin out of the room where he cleaned himself so he didn't smell like a rotter anymore. He ate a full three coarse meal. Then finally slept the rest of the day. Not waking until the morning.
