I met this really pretty girl yesterday. Let me tell you how it started. I was sat at my favorite spot in the corner of my absolute favorite covefe shop. Steamin' Mugs was the place to be. Its also the only shop in a 7 mile radius so.....
I go there whenever I want to get away from schoolwork. Or just my annoying roommate Riya. Shes a junior at the University of Denver, studying to be a social activist. She's my best friend, my little 4'9" assassin. I love her, but sometimes I just need a break.
I was sat in my comfy booth, listening to the soundtrack of my new musical I'm performing. I'm a sophomore studying theater. My dream is to be on Broadway one day, like all the greats.
There I sat, staring off into to the distance, trying to think of the next paragraph for my improve essay, when I gazed upon the most beautiful girl I'd ever seen.
This girl had miraculous straight blonde hair. She was the barista, very pretty, maybe 20. I bet she goes to the university on the other side of town. I really hoped I can work up the courage to start a conversation with her. One that doesn't involve, "Today's special is the chai tea."
~Let's recap my encounter with the golden goddess~
Oh my god. She is gorgeous. Okay, just talk to her. Just ask her about her job or something. Keep it cool. I turned back to my essay, typing away as thoughts came to mind.
Before I continue the story, I just feel like I need to state that I am a colossal nerd. I have never been in situation were I was the most normal one there, It just doesn't happen. I am also very socially awkward. Every heard of clumsiness? Well my face would make the front cover.
So it went a little something like this..
"Hi my name is Veronika, what can I get for you today?"
"How about a girlfriend and the answers to all of my exams next week." I answered bluntly.
"Well I doubt I can help you with either of those. I haven't had a successful relationship in months and I have a c- in all my classes."
My eyes widened once I realized who I was talking to. "Oh my god, sorry I didn't mean to bring you into my problems. You probably have enough on your plate without a stranger complaining about his life. I'm not trying to read into your life and tell you have problems. Okay I think I'm just making this worse I'm just gonna shut up now." I rambled
She started laughing at my rambling."You didn't offend me or anything don't worry."
Phew. I was almost certain she thought I was this self-centered jerk who complains about everything.
"Do you mind if I sit with you. My break ends in five minutes and I don't want to deal with my workaholic roommate."
"Yeah that works with me" I replied
she started walking off when she spun on her heel and retraced her steps to my booth.
"I'm so sorry. I came over here to get your order and I completely forgot."
"Its alright.'' I stare at her for a second, lost in her beauty when I remembered she asked a question. I couldn't think of any reasonable drink options so I spoke the first thought that came to my head. "I'll have a cup of ice"
Her face contorted into a look of confusion. It took me a minute to comprehend what I had said. I was just sitting there in a pile of useless thoughts before I corrected myself. "I mean, an iced tea please." God Jake why do you have to be so awkward.
She came back five minutes later, as promised, with my iced tea. And a cup of ice.
"Here you go. You also asked for a cup of ice so....." she trailed off
