"There are consequences for what you do!" A man yelled.
He was Sage's father.
"Don't do this. It won't happen again, I swear." Sage said, crying.
She had on a black beanie, and a puffer jacket.
"You can't be here anymore. You did this to yourself!" Her father said, as more towns people joined him. I knew every one of them. We were supposed to be good people.
I ran outside, with every intention to take the blame. Sage turned to look at me.
"Well, there is my daughter, who told us if this incident." My father said.
People turned to me. They had never noticed me like this before. I was always just the girl who sees Every one through the window. I knew everybody's name, but nobody knew me very well. Our town was to small, to not notice everyone around you.
"It was me. I did it all. I just dragged Sage into all of this" I said, with tears falling from my blue eyes.
Sage looked at me, as I had never seen her before. She looked at me as if I had ruined her life. I probably had. She was being embarrassed in front of the entire town.
"We know she did it" said one of the men.
I walked through the people who were encircling her. I stood between her and her father. Everyone's eyes were on me.
"They don't care about you. Just leave. You make no difference. You are just a constant bother." The voice in the back of my head whispered.
"Don't do this. It was all me. I found the radio. I communicated with the place far away!"
"Stop pretending to be brave, and leave before I make you!" My father said.
I continued to stand between Sage and her father.
"You are a disappointment" my father said.
Sages father shoved me aside. I landed into a mud puddle. I was covered in mud. By now, everyone in the town was watching. Everyone was silent. A gust of wind blew, and broke the silence. I got up off the ground, in pure embarrassment. Everyone continued to stare at me.
"Don't do this!" I yelled.
"Go inside!" My father yelled.
I walked back into my house, hopeless. I knew I was being a coward. I gave saving her one try, then gave up. I watched everything from the window.
Sage's father started to drag her. He dragged her all the way to the gate at the tree line. He threw her out, and closed the gate.
I was devestated. Tears left my eyes like a tsunami.
Things would never be the same in my life. A voice in the back of my head told me
"Go to the trees. What is keeping you hear now? An abusive father? People who do not really know, nor care about you?"
"Not today" I said
"Do not his to me today. Do not tempt me today. I am weaker today. I can not stand strong today" I said with anger.
The voice in the back of my head would never quit.
"Leave. Leave. Leave. The trees." The voice repeated.
"Not today."
