Chapter 21

Kuroko’s POV

It’s my birthday today.

The last four years, I have gotten used to Aomine-kun bringing me to the amusement park to celebrate my birthday. We left the kids with either his parents or Momoi-chan or with Kagami-kun whenever his in the country and enjoy ourselves to the fullest.  But today, it was just going to be me and Akashi-kun. We left the kids to Aomine-kun, much to his dismay.

Akashi-kun told me to wait outside my house. I wonder what he’s planning for my birthday?

“Kuroko Tetsuya?”

I was surprised that someone actually saw me. Keeping my face expressionless, I answered to him. “Yes, that’s me. Is there anything I can help you with?”

“Here.” He gave me a sunflower.

“Sorry. I already have a boyfriend.”

“Just take it.” He forcefully pushed it me along with and envelope. Then, he quickly run away.

“What…” I stare at the sunflower and the envelope before deciding to open it.

Tetsuya,

I see that you already got my letter. You might be wondering what this is about but all I could tell you for now is, trust me.

My love, I put a map on her and I would greatly appreciate it if you would follow it and reach the marked spot on foot.

Your lover and the father of your children,

Seijuuro.

True to his words, a map was included in the letter. A red line was drawn on it indicating the route that I should be taking.  And the line was heading straight to…. “Teiko…”

Left with not much choice, I followed the red line.

It took me a while before I reached the gates of my middle school.

Standing outside, I took in the splendid sight of where it all started. The place where I met and fell in love with the love of my life.

It’s a good thing that today is a weekend. I would definitely be regarded as being suspicious standing outside like this if it’s not.

“Kuroko!” I was surprised to see a former teammate from middle school., Nijimura-senpai

“Nijimura-senpai, what are you doing here?”

He smiled at me. “I was tasked to give this to you. Here.” He presented me with a Stargazer.

“Thank you.” I said as I accepted the flower.

“Follow the red ribbons, Kuroko.” He said as he ushered me the way.

“What’s going on?” But I was only left with a smile for an answer.

“You have to find out for yourself.” He said. “Follow the red ribbons, Kuroko.”

Left without a choice, I followed the red ribbons. By the time that I reached the lockers, I was approached by another set of friends. “Kuroko.” A smiling Riko-senpai and Hyuuga-senpai greeted me.

“Hello, senpai.”

“Here.” They both gave me a peony.

I thanked them and followed the other sets of red ribbon that leads me to the hallway. Right there, Midorima-kun is standing by with his girlfriend, both holding a red rose. “Kuroko.”

“Midorima-kun, Hikari-chan.”

“Here.” Midorima-kun and Hikari-chan both gave me the roses that they’re holding.
