Chapter 22: Finale

Behind this door is where my heart is.

The love of my life, the father of my children.

I know that just right behind this door and at the end of the aisle, the man that I wish to spend my entire life with is waiting for me.

Wearing a white tuxedo, a simple veil donning my head, I stood still full of happiness waiting for the door to open.

“Are you ready, Tetsu?”

Aomine-kun, wearing an all-black tuxedo, was standing on my right side. He is going to walk me down the aisle in placed of my parents that passed away years ago.

“I am.” I answered as I smiled at him. He offered me his arm and I hooked my arm on him.

The doors opened on cue and the music signaling the start of my march played.
I walked down the aisle.

Standing and clapping their hands and cheering for us were our friends that we made through our middle school and high school. My sons were standing beside their father, behaving properly with their eyes sparkling as they watched me come closer to them and their father.

Masaomi-san is also standing there. Beside Sei-kun, patting his shoulder as he whispers a few words to his only son.

Despite everything that was happening around us, Sei-kun’s eyes never left me. From the moment I stepped inside, his eyes were fixed on me.

I finally reached the end and Aomine-kun was about to give me to Sei-kun. “Tetsu.”

“Thank you, Aomine-kun.”

“Anything for you.” He kissed me on my forehead and whispered something that I barely understand before he grabbed my hand and offered it to Sei-kun. “Take good care of him, Akashi.”

“You don’t have to tell me that.” Sei-kun answered as he took my hand.

The ceremonial rites started and we were now down to the vows that we prepared for each other.

Sei-kun was the first to say his vows and I know that as long as I am alive, I would never forget everything that he told me this day.

“Tetsuya, I know that the purpose of saying our vows is to promise but I won’t promise you anything. Instead, I’ll prove it to you, not just through my words but through my actions. I love you. I love you so much. I would never go through the pain of losing you ever again. I would never test how much I love you. I would never leave you for anything else. Thank you, for giving me another chance to love you. Thank you, for letting me into your life and to our children’s lives. Thank you for letting me be your husband. Thank you for choosing me.” He gathers my hands that’s wearing our ring and kiss them gently. “Thank you for loving me. Thank you for marrying me.”

“Sei-kun…”

“I love you. I love you so much.”

I can’t help but smile at his loving words. “Sei-kun. Akashi Seijuuro, the man that I love the most. The only person that I’ve ever been with and I never regret my decision of only having you as my partner. Thank you for giving me Seiji, Kyouhei and Tatsumi. If were not for you, I would never give birth to the three most adorable and lovely children that I love so much.” I look over to my sons and watch them giggle happily. “Thank you for coming back to our lives. We’ve been through a lot. Our roads once separated but we both still find our way back to each other. And now, right in the presence of everyone that we love, we were starting on our journey, taking our road to forever.” I smiled at him with my brightest smile. “I love you so much. Akashi Seijuuro.”

“I love you more, Akashi Tetsuya.”

Then we kissed. Symbolizing the start of our life together.

Together, we were on our way, taking Our Road to Forever.

Another Perspective:

Kagami: What did you say to kuroko?”

Aomine: Not for you to know. (gulps down the champagne)

??????:: I know what you told him I read your lips.

Kagami and Aomine both looked over to where the voice came from.

Aomine: Whoa! Where the hell did you come from?!

?????: That’s rude. I’ve been standing here far long before the two of you came here.

Kagami: Who the hell are you?

?????: (playfully slapping her palm on her forehead) Where are my manners? I’m Kuroko Airi, Tetsu-chan’s younger cousin.

Aomine: you don’t look like him.

Airi: We’re not twins. (shaking her head as she mumbles) Idiot.

Aomine: What the hell did you just say?!

Airi: Nothing.

Kagami: Anyways, you said you heard what Aomine told Kuroko, right? What is it?

Airi: (looking at Aomine) I will always love you. (smiles lovingly at him)
