DAWN 06 | TRUTH
A SMILE HAD spread across each face as they talked about their lives behind naked eye. Yun was fixated on reading his book whilst his assorted company was trailing behind, sharing stories.
You and the princess were laughing about her life in behind the castle walls, how she stupidly fell for her cousin who had taken the throne. About the struggles she had to be stuck with her childhood friend, Hak.
The mentioned man teased the princess about her undying love for Su-won, her cousin. Kija was busy on admiring your mirthful appearance on the side, complimenting you from time to time.
Shin-ah was on watch, since he was gifted for his eyesight. Kija was gifted with his right-hand, Hak was the great general of the Wind Tribe, a prideful beast. Yun, for owning a great leading brain, surviving tactics and Yona as the leader to guide them.
And you.
"...I love turtles."
"What?" The princess quirked at your sudden words before letting out a giggle, "You love everything. From panda, tiger, snakes, sloth and now turtle?"
"Did I say all that?"
As to answer that question, Kija raises his hand, "Yes. You told me you loved food - as it's your love life! If food is your love life, well. Can I be your food?" Yun had to double-take his head at the sudden request.
Eyes bawling as he processed his words in through his thick skull, "Kija." The White Dragon hummed in response, not taking the look of displeasure on those young blue eyes.
"I heard Yun reciting it last night. He had been saying it non-stop so I thought maybe if I say it then it'll get it off his chest as he says-" A hand had slammed down in his mouth as he stumbled backward, shocked.
"Kija." Yun repeated, feeling flustered by the words leaving the male's lips. Supposedly, his words.
"Yun, are you the one declaring your undying love now?" The General sneered, adding a tint of envy in his tone of voice but neither of his companions caught it. They were oblivious.
"Sure."
His lips dropped at the blunt statement, "What?" His eyes boring into your own, a little hurt. What do you mean by 'sure'? Sure that you'll answer Kija or Yun. Hell. He doesn't like the sound of it.
"I mean I love food so everyone can be food. I love everyone." His heart churned. Damn. He thought he was losing you for a second there.
Yun released a breath, he did not realize he was holding - loosening his grip on the male before picking up the book he dropped earlier. He was a little happy - he didn't get rejected but upset - he was treated just like everyone.
But hey, it's better than dejection.
The last thing a man wanted in his life or the very least. A complete and flat 'no' from someone he loved dearly. Love is a strong word.
"Does this mean I can be your food?" The oblivious male pushed his way out of Yun's reach and claimed your hands, eyes sparkling at the thought, "Does this make you my betrothed?"
You were not dumb on what the last word actually meant. Considering yourself as a bookworm back at home, you knew things like this.
"Kija, I'm not ready for that."
His lips formed into a cute pout, "But YN-sama!" In his village, if the White Dragon asks a maiden for hand in marriage, it's bestowed as a blessing. Because your appearance nor personality has captured the eyes of the lord, you'd be the bride instantly. Imagine his grandmother shrilling in bliss and dramatically crying over her grandson finding his true love.
