i'd write a love letter to the earth
and whisper them to the wind
i'd paint her pictures
using her own
orange and pink hues

watch how the clouds dance
watch them flowering
whites and grays
myticaly ethereal
over the face of the stars
but the mystical is not
how the world is
but that it is

let her ocean waves wash over me
and smudge the ink on the page
watch the words
leave streaks across the paper
but there is a beauty
in her destruction
unlike ours
here we write love letters for her
on the pages from herself
so in this
like most of what mankind has made
leaves less love
than they do scars
