what if that plastered on smile
she wore every day
was fake
what if her red eyes weren't the result of a little lost sleep
what if the cuts and bruises
that littered her skin
weren't from her being clumsy
what if that night she drank too much
and took to many pills
and slashed her skin
what if the doctors couldn't save her
what if she was dead
what if she was never okay
the next few days were a blur
and no one understood
how could this have gone on so long and no one noticed
no one understood
maybe to understand
the pain she was going through
we need to take out the variables
and look at life
without what if's
she was lying when she said
