Chapter 23

Jake's Pov
I wake up with Erika in my arms she is freezing cold shaking but sweating. The doctor said if this happens check her heart rate so I did and she was fine but she was going to be like this for awhile so I went to go get her hot coffee and hot chocolate so she can decide which one she wants. I call Tessa.

T: hello *sleepy voice*

J: hey Tessa

T: what Jake

J: someone's in a mood

T: sorry I'm just tired

J: okay then come to me and Erikas dorm room and sleep in her bed and keep her company while I go get her something warm to drink

T: why do I have to keep her company

J: because she has something like the cold sweats but worse and I can't leave her alone

T: alright I'm coming

J: thank you, do you want anything

T: some hot chocolate would be great

J: okay come over and I'll get your stuff

Tessa comes over

J: hey Tessa thank you so much I'll be back in like 25 minutes

T: okay

I go and get 3 hot chocolates and 1 hot coffee and then I drive back to the campus and go back to my room.

J: Tessa wake up

T: what

J: I got your hot chocolate

T: thank you 

I walk over to Erika and wake her up

J: babe wake up

E: no Jake

J: I got you--

E: please tell me you didn't get me a smoothie

J: I didn't

E: thank God

J: but you are staying in bed today because you have the cold sweats and I got you 2 drinks so you can choose one for now to keep you warm. Got chocolate or hot coffee?

E: hot coffee

J: here you go

I handed her the coffee and she smiled but that wasn't a true smile she forced that smile.

E: um...what's Tessa doing here

J: I told her to come here to keep you company/ watch over you while I go get your drinks because you are sick.

E: thank you

She leaned in for a kiss but if dodged it

E: what?

J: your sick

E: seriously Jake it's cancer not the flu

J: I wish it was the flu

I looked down with tears in my eyes

Erika's Pov
I can tell me having cancer is killing Jake inside.

E: um T can you go I need to talk to Jake I'll text you later.

T: yeah sure ily

E: ily

Once Tessa left I looked at Jake

E: babe

J: yeah

E: are you okay

J: no, no I'm not okay my everything has cancer and I've been trying to keep it together but I can't do it anymore you may have cancer but it's not only killing you Erika.

I have never seen Jake cry this much maybe a few tears drops here and there but he is full on balling his eyes out. I pulled him into the tightest hug ever.

E: Jake why didn't you tell me this.

J: I wanted to stay strong for you because I saw how much pain you were in when you first found out you had cancer and I couldn't just put this all on you. Erika I love you I can't loose you.

E: I love you too

I kissed him and he kissed back of course I licked his bottom lip for permission to enter and he accepted we were full on making out not rough, not sloppy, not steamy, but passionate.  We pulled back from the kiss and then had our foreheads touching.

E: Jake I love you and I would never leave you if I die, when I die I'll still be here.

He moved a piece of my newly short hair behind my ear.

J: I love you too

E: promise me one thing

J: what

E: I don't ever want to see you cut your self in any way ever

Jake's Pov
I took a deep breath

J: I promise

E: good

J: your sick I'm bored and sad what shall we do today.

E: let's invite people over 1 by 1 and tell them the bad news and then the good news.

J: okay you want to shower first

E: yeah let's go

*after shower*

J: okay who do you want to call first

E: well we should call the people who can come here. So Logan and Chance and are the boys still here?

J: yeah they are all here.

E: okay you get them over here.

J: okay

E: 1 2 3... break

I know it's not long like usual but my dad said I have to get off of my phone because it's late, I'll try my best to make tomorrow's chapter longer.
