Betty smiled brightly pride swelling in her as she stepped into the gymnasium. She did a full 360, talking a full look at her decorating skills. Jughead puts a hand on her shoulder, leaning in trying to meet her ear over the pumping music, " it looks great Betts". She reaches her hand up and places it over his, leading him to the dance floor. Dance music swells there surroundings as they let themselves noice to the rhythm. Betty jumps when to hands connect with hers.

" looks like you two are having a good time" Veronica says while twirling Betty under her arm. Betty smiles and moves over to Jughead as the song changes and the sh echos something about couples and slow song.

" I didn't take you to be a dancing type Jones" Archie teases before being pulled away by Veronica who was mumbling about punch.

Jughead slowly pulls Betty into his arms as the slow 80's like melody fills his senses. His arms wrap around her lower back, hers weave around his neck, her head cradles against his front. They sway back and forth to the rhythm. Betty lifts her head, looking into his eyes.

" thank you Jug" she says, barley a whisper. Her eyes filled with love. Jughead smirks before placing a kiss on her forehead. He pulls her back into him, her head leaning on his chest.

They step away from each other as the song comes to an end. Betty looks around, before her eyes land on Veronica and Archie whispering into her mothers ear. Her stomach fills with dread as her fingernails meet her palms.

" can you go get me punch jug?" She asks, jug nods before heading to the punch bowl.

Betty storms over to her friends and mother, hearing them whisper about trailer and dinner.
She grips Veronica's wrist gently pulling her away.

" what are you guys taking about" she snaps at them. There eyes all gloss over with fear before Archie's dance over to something behind her. She turns around to see what caught Archie's interest, Jughead who was pouring punch. She whips back around to face them. Tears stinking at the corners of her eyes.

" what did you do, what did you guys do" she questions angrily.

" Betty- we, we had too" Veronica whispers before her and Archie's name is called up to the stage to sing their song. Betty looks at them both, fire behind her eyes as they solemnly and silently shuffle up on to the stage. Betty steps towards her mother.

" what. Did you. Do." She hisses stepping closer and closer. Alice's eyes brighten as she greets Jughead who was now standing next to Betty. He places his hands on her shoulders, rubbing his thumbs gently when he feels how tense they are.

" let's go" Betty mumbles turning away from Alice, branding over to the exit. Jughead leans down to meet her ear,

" you ok?" He whispers. Betty shakes her head gently.

" can we go get some fresh air?" She says before letting Jughead whisk her away out of the gym into the hall, only to be faced with a mob of familiar faces, kevin Keller in front.

" oh thank god, Jughead, my dad just told Mayor McCoy about your dad"

Jugheads face contorts with concussion and worry.

" what about my dad?"

Kevin steps forward,

" jug, he was just arrested"

Betty turns to her mother, lips slightly parted and eyes wide. Alice just smirks nodding slightly.

" arrested? For what, kevin what happened" 

"He was arrested...for the murder of Jason Blossom"
