Clay's POV
My jaw clenched in anger when I heard her confession from last night. I hadn't slept a wink thinking about it being mad at Amanda while a small part of me still blames myself of the outcome.
I was a jerk to her and I never deserved her friendship. Maybe after this week, I should just stay away from her and leave her be.
Troy would understand, right?
Everybody's packed up and ready to go. We only have 3 days before Savannah leaves to her 'furniture expeditions' in Africa.
After discussing everything with Savannah, she finally made a plan on how get a sweet revenge for Harely who was sleeping soundly in my arms. It looked like she enjoys sleeping in on somebody every now and then so I just let her.
But last night was different. She passed out on Troy and it took every ounce of my willpower to snatched her away from him without waking her.
It's going to be the perfect plan yet.
Flashback:
Harley was sobbing uncontrollably as she shows us her scar. Savannah's eyes also caught sight of the slight gash mark on her forehead.
"Where did that come from?" She asked with concern.
"I did it." I said.
The mood changed all of a sudden and I was tackled on to the ground.
"Woah, b*tchfight! I like this!" Troy stood up and snapped some pictures of Savannah strangling me.
"I can't believe I married such a jerk!" She shrieked.
"H-hey.. it's fine though." Harley stood up and pulled Savannah's claws away from my face. My neck has scratches all over but it didn't hurt like it was supposed to be.
I needed to hurt harder in order to make it up to her.
Harley stares at her almost pleadingly so she let me go with a loud thud. "You're lucky... for now. It's because Harley told me not to touch you." She said dryly.
I was busily loading up the truck when Harely appeared dressed in an oversized shirt that looked familiar.
"Looking good, Harely-Hare." Troy whistled and hooted. Her face instantly grew purple as she tries to reach a rope used for the tents from a nearby tree.
I glared at Troy and he smiled like an idiot, making signals that I should get a move on her or something.
"Shut-up, Man." I replied.
Harley tries jumping to reach it with all her might but to no avail. A starred at her for a few moments but immediately knocked myself out of it before anyone noticed me.
"Here, let me get it for you." I simply syood on tiptoe and gave her the other end of the rope.
She blushed even harder.
I gulped at the sight of her standing onky mere inches from me. I can smell her scent but mixed wirh something spicy and somewhat... male.
D*mn it, she's wearing Troy's shirt!
I caught sight of Troy smirking evily at the the back of the tree, making gagging sounds with Savannah.
"F*ck you too, bro." I mouthed at him.
Harley was already looking at my direction and she also saw Troy and Savannah emerging from the trees.
"Had to have a final swim there." Savannah explained, placing an arm on my shoulder. "Looks like I got you good last night." She laughed.
Troy snickers and placed an arm around Harley as if marking a territory.
"Thanks for the shirt." She greeted him.
"Well, what are we waiting for?" He grinned. "Harley... you look great on my shirt, by the way." His voice trails as he leads her to the truck.
What's up with the two of them?
Troy's POV
Clay's face IS priceless. I can't believe what I'm seeing right now.
Savannah was right to put on a bet like that a while ago. I even saw Harley's cheeks flaring up when she touched Clay's arms.
Why can't those idiots realize that they like each other already?!
And to think that I'm already giving her up for my best friend. I know, it pains me to see the two of them, no question. But I'm doing the right thing, anyway. Even Savannah doesn't seem to mind since they were only married on paper.
And for the final injury, Savannah sat beside Clay on the passenger seat while I led an unsuspecting Harley at the back. I can feel Clay's eyes boring holes on my back but I just did a poker-faced act and ignored him the whole ride.
This is going to be interesting.
My thoughts flew back to Savannah as she tries her best to look asleep on the passenger seat. She looks tough on the outside and inside but she has a soft spot for the three of us. I wonder why, though.
We've never even met before but here she is, acting like an old friend trying to make up for the past.
I'd better keep an eye on her.
Savannah's POV
The plan went on as usual and Troy was busily showering Harley with unwanted affection. The funny thing is, she never seems to mind but I'm sure that Clay does.
I notice his grip tightened on the steering wheel when Troy whispered something funny to her. Seems like everyone is busy with their own business so I'll just pop on my headphones, trying so much not to look out of place.
I looked at my phone calendar and counted my days left with them.
Three more days.
Three more days left. I wonder how long I'll last here before my next appointment at the hospital. Afterwards, maybe I'm going to be gone for a few more weeks to sort my finances out.
I don't have enough time.
"W-wait! Stop here!" I said.
"What is it?" Clay parked the truck near a curb and Troy dashed through the trees to relieve himself. Harley was left sleeping where Troy left her and I pointed at the first house on the other lane.
"That's where your Amanda lives." I said triumphantly. "Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" I grinned at him.
"Say no more!" Troy appears from the bushes. He ran to the truck and pulled out the remaining tray of eggs that we have left.
There's a car parked near the house where that Amanda lives and it obviously is hers. Clay drove nearer and nearer while Troy prepares the eggs and I do the lookout.
Making sure that nobody's around, we smashed the tray of eggs at the hood of her car and a couple of more oil on her windshield and ran like mad dogs back to the truck.
"Hit it!" I shrieked. Moments later, we were dashing on the highway singing our hearts out in celebration to a sweet revenge.
By the way, Harley was asleep when we did it. She's such a heavy sleeper.
