The rest of our holiday getaway went smoothly. We went snorkeling and did photo shoots in almost anywhere.
By the time that we'll be leaving, I found it hard to get up and pack my bags. I am so coming back here for my honeymoon!
Wait... Will I ever get married?
My thoughts landed on Clay and my mind says "Why not?" but a part of me was still confused and a little bit nervous about... us.
Oh my gosh, I'd better keep in kind that he's my boyfriend now.
When we got home, Savannah and Troy were already inside my apartment eating dinner. I went directly to my bedroom and slept all day while Clay leaves and goes back to his old, workaholic self.
But I didn't miss the part where Savannah blushes every time Troy says something funny or gives her meaningful glances.
Both guys left after dinner but we still hadn't told them about me and Clay being officially in a relationship. I think they got the gist already when they saw him kissing me on the counter.
After the guys left, Savannah and I practically had the apartment to ourselves as we sat in front of the TV watching Netflix and eating popcorn for nearly two hours tops.
"Tell me something I don't know." I giggled at her like a schoolgirl.
"W-well. It's Troy." Her voice trails from being happy into somewhat devastated. "Harley, he doesn't know anything about my illness but I strung him along. I-I couldn't even say no to him about us." She sobbed.
"There, there." I said, tapping her back. "It's gonna be fine. He has to know. But not now." He definitely needs to know ASAP! But I couldn't tell her that right now. She's still being new to this, not to mention because of her condition, too.
"Wanna hear something cool?" I asked her, trying to divert her attention into something else.
"What? You're with Clay now? Obviously!" She smirked.
"I think he's serious, Sav." I said. I took the remote and flipped on to another channel.
"You're one lucky girl, Harley. You should enjoy your life more." Savannah said, grinning from ear to ear.
"Says someone battling cancer." I joked.
"Ouch!" She feigned hurt before the two of us burst out in laughter. A part of me was happy for the both of us for finding love but I was still saddened about Savannah's current situation.
But, since we made a deal not not make any depressing talks about it, we stuck to talking about boys, bikinis and beaches. I think I've never seen her glowing more radiant than before.
It's like she was never sick.
Well, that was until she started coughing up uncontrollably that I needed to rush her to the hospital.
"Savannah!"
Troy's POV
I was having an important phone call when Harley's name popped on the screen. I felt a sharp pain in my chest. It hurts.
Something wrong.
"I'll call you later." I said as I cut our conversation short and clicked on to Harley's icon.
"What's wrong?"
"I... I'm at the hospital. You need to come here quick. I'll send you the address." Instantly, a message pops into my phone. It was Clay telling me to wait for him at the garage because we'll be heading to the hospital.
I frantically put on my coat and ran to the nearest elevator but it was out of order. I cursed under my breath and ran along the stairs starting from level four.
When I got downstairs, Clay was already there talking on his phone. He signalled me to get inside and he drove his maserati like mad.
Please be okay, Savannah.
Savannah's POV
Harley has been pacing back and forth in front of me for an hour now. I can tell that she's panicking right but my weak state couldn't tell her to calm down.
"I... I feel dizzy. Please stop moving." I mumbled.
I couldn't even speak for long. My head felt like it's been through an accident. Gosh, I wish it was. It's better than slowly wasting away while I was living my life.
"I'm sorry, Sav. I'm just worried." Harley explained. I pointed a chair to her and urged her to sit down. My head started hurting again and I closed my eyes shut, clenching my fists.
The door suddenly opened and Troy stepped in with Barclay. The pair looked more worried than Harley beside me.
"What happened?" Clay went straight to Harley and looked at me.
I stared at her meaningfully and Barclay left with Harley. She'll be the one doing the explaining to him for now.
I'm now all alone with Troy. He looks flustered and tired from all that worry. Even his suit was no excuse. It was all crumpled to the sides and his tie was still loose.
"Are you okay?" He asked, sitting beside me. I felt his hands intertwining with mine and I let him.
"Fine." I whispered. My voice sounded hoarse. I don't even know if I could shout at this rate.
It must've been the cancer speeding up.
"I get that you can't speak that much. I'll be staying with you until you're all clear." He declared.
I shook my head, telling him a NO but he still insisted on staying. I couldn't do anything about it. He just smiled and flashed me one of those boyish grin and laid beside me on my hospital bed.
"Sleep, Sav." He whispered right next to me before kissing me on the forehead, cuddling beside me.
