I wake up at five thirty wishing that I could say the sun was shining on my face as I was in my apartment but I can't say that. Because I'm at Kogot's headquarters on the most dangerous mission of my life. Trying to save the world and today at precisely eight o clock I'm going to have my life completely changed and my DNA (I think) changed to!! Why is my life so strange? I ask myself. I close my eyes and I can still feel Bolts lips brushing up against my lips. I moan no.
"Earth to Scarlett, stop daydreaming or whatever it is you're doing." Blaze says interrupting my thoughts. "So are you excited or scared or what?" She asks me practically jumping up and down reminding me of a little kid.
"Honestly I'm not sure what I'm feeling right now, I'm nervous, only kind of excited and freaked out just a little." I say with my stomach full of knots.
"Are you freaked out about last night or are you freaked out about the surgery thingy?" She asks raising her eyebrow.
"The surgery I mean no, both I think, do you get what I mean?"
"Yeah I think so. So are you guys together or what? Blaze asks me.
"I don't know. Honestly I'm afraid to know." I say truthfully. We both head to the training center where Bolt will be directing a fake mission for practice.
"All right everyone listen up, today we are going to play a little game. Has anyone here played laser tag before?" Bolt asks. I see quite a few hands raise including mine. "OK good. Except for this we're going to have a mission and you have to execute that mission within your time frame and you have to get it down perfectly. Alright I will now hand you your position in the game. Remember your going to be assassinating the Korean President but you have to make it appear as if he had a heart attack." I look at my paper and it says that I go undercover as a guest to keep my eyes on security and on anyone else who could pose a threat to the "mission". I ask Blaze,
"What did you get? I get to be a guest."
"A waitress. Except I'm the one who drugs his champagne." She says with a frown on her face.
"Well at least you get a bigger part in it." I say trying to cheer her up.
"Nah it's OK, at least I'm not kitchen help or something." She says. I put blue goggles on for the holographic mission, when I put it on I'm in a large fancy building with crowds of people with waiters and waitresses I see Blaze in a waitress outfit; a plain black dress with a white apron and she's holding a tray with champagne glasses. I look down at my own clothes I'm wearing a bright blue silk dress with some ruffles going across the skirt part of the dress. I look around and I say into my comm,
"I have eyes on security." I hear Blaze's voice over the comm say,
"I'm making my way towards Mr. President."
"Just a minute I need to give security something to go do. Alright some security should leave into the kitchen to check that door." Chase tells us.
"Chase your the computer guy?" I ask him.
"Yeah well someone has to hack into the securities comms." He says.
"Guys focus on your mission." Bolt orders.
"I have a problem with security in the kitchen." I hear a new male voice say, I recognize the voice being the Metal man.
"Oops that would be my fault." Chase says "They should leave soon."
"President is poisoned now." And I am trying to get some distance between me and him." Blaze says. I hear a scream as the President slumps to the ground as the drug runs through his system causing him to have a heart attack. Everyone then has to leave the building, and as the crowd files out security checks everyone trying to find the culprit. Once I pass security we are finished with the holograph mission.
"You did OK, but there was plenty of room for improvement. Now we are going to look over what you guys could have done better." Bolt tells us. After we went over that, Althrik says,
"OK Scarlett come with me it's time." My stomach immediately felt full of knots. Blaze, seeing how nervous I am stopped me and said,
"Hey don't worry it'll be done before you know it." I quickly nod my head and left following behind Althrik.
"In there." She says pointing to a big metal door with a sign above reading 'Medical'. I push open the door to see a metal table with several colored liquids and needles, and beside the table is a black leather , there some nurses and couple of doctors all wearing white with a blue surgical mask. I see a glass window facing the operating table and on the other side is illusion, Althrik and Dr. Moshchnost. One of the nurses ask me to be seated on the operating table. Once I was comfortably seated they strapped my legs and arms down. I see one of the nurses inject my arm with a blue liquid, I began to fade in and out of sleep seeing the doctors and nurses surrounding me. Then it's pitch black. As I flutter my eyes open there are bright lights in the room I see this girl about my age with light brown hair and brown eyes, she looks part Asian. she looks vaguely familiar, and she's staring at me, waving and saying something but I can't quite make it out. I'm completely confused as to why I'm in a hospital so I ask her.
"What happened? Was I in a car accident or did I get shot on the job? And are you the doctor?" I say finally after a bit I can hear her laughing saying,
"You really don't remember anything do you?"
"Hey I asked you a question. Now are you the doctor or not?" I say feeling offended that she would ignore my question like that "You know you're very rude by not answering my question."
"No Scarlett I'm not the doctor." She says. I see this guy outside a glass window looking in. I point at him and state,
"He's cute. Don't you agree?"
"I suppose he is, but he's not my type." She says. Then a thought strikes me so I say,
"Wait are you my friend or my enemy? Because I know I've seen you before."
"Yeah we're friends. You just don't remember." She tells me grinning like she thinks I'm funny.
"Do I look funny?" I ask worried that she thinks that I look weird or something.
"No, you look fine except you look tired." I regarded her suspiciously, thinking she was lying somehow.
"So if we're friends than why can't I remember your name?" I ask her.
"Well um my name is Blaze." Blaze tells me. I slowly say,
"You didn't answer the question."
"OK the reason why you can't remember my name is because the doctors gave you something for your procedure so that it wouldn't hurt as much and so that you would be asleep during the procedure." Blaze tells me.
"OK, what was the procedure for? Wait was I pregnant?" I say slowly worried as I look at my left hand for a ring.
"No, your not pregnant the procedure was to give you superpowers." Blaze says laughing. When she says that I feel greatly relieved.
"So what kind of powers am I gonna have? I ask curiously.
"I don't know."
"Can I go to sleep I'm really tired and I'm afraid I'm gonna explode like a bomb." I say nodding my head.
"OK goodnight. Sweet dreams." She says as she leaves. Later I wake up remembering everything I said.
"Noooo." I moan. I sit up to see Blaze smiling wide at me saying,
"Did you explode?"
"Please tell me that was all a dream." I say desperately.
"Nope, sorry can't say that without it being a lie." She says laughing
"So do they know if I have a superpower?" I ask slightly nervous.
