"You know I never thought that your everyday person could be highly trained in a large variety of martial arts. But I guess I was wrong." Blaze spoke in ragged breaths.
"Well working for the C.I.A. I decided I wanted to be more than just a girl with a gun." I say while trying to miss Blaze's kick. After that I shower; just letting the water run down my face, I review everything in my head going over the past few days. I then remember hearing the scream of my best friend in Russia "NO!!!" I screamed but my scream was uselessly lost to the wind. I hurry up with my shower, I step out of the bathroom. I quickly glance around to make sure no one else is here before heading to my room to put my dirty clothes away. I make a right heading towards a large black and gray door. I try to open it but it's locked.
"Shoot!" I go back to my room and grab my pen so I can picklock the door. I get it unlocked after a couple of tries. I look inside; there are some pretty high-tech computers at some metal boring desks. In the middle of the room there's a column with lights blinking all around, and I find a computer screen on the other side of it. On the screen there is a green dot zig zagging across a satellite image of the world with faces beside the image constantly going through different faces almost like it was calculating and watching. "Looks like somebody thought that 'Person of interest' had a good idea" I say to myself. I walk over to a computer and I started searching about the thing that haunted me most. I hear some voices outside the door and down the hall, I quickly exit out of the search page and get myself positioned in a corner of the ceiling out of sight as I wait for the voices to die down. When they do, I quickly leave, shutting the door behind me. I look at my watch. I was in there longer than I thought. It's dinner time now, so I head over to the mess hall. Blaze catches sight of me and says,
"Where were you? I was looking all over for you."
"After I took a shower, I had to clear my head I was just walking around the place." I lie. I hear a stuck up sounding male voice chime in saying,
"I actually heard that you were visiting a certain person you have a crush on, That person being Bolt."
"Cut it Chase, that's absolutely stupid, and besides you say that about every girl here so just shut up." Blaze huffs and then turns to face forward grabbing a couple more things and put them on her tray. I nudge Blaze.
"What's his deal? I haven't even seen him till now." I ask.
"Oh, are you talking about Chase? Yeah he just likes to be a jerk, just because he can. So just ignore him, he is only nice when he's knocked out or something." I laugh. I finish eating before Blaze, so I get up from my seat heading towards the trashcan when all of a sudden I start slipping until I feel someone reach out and catch me. I look up to see who it was. I recognize his eyes immediately: those dark brown pools so de-AGH! what am I thinking? I quickly stand up all the way and mumble a thanks. I can feel the heat rise to my face as I turn stupidly bright red. I sit back down to see Blaze's eyes wide, jaw dropped she quickly says "I won't judge." After dinner we go over some computer tactics on how to leave absolutely no digital fingerprints.
"Ok everyone listen up, here is going to teach you Computer tactics." Althrik tells us pointing to a girl in her twenties with a darker complexion, soft brown eyes and crimpy with a slight frizzyness to her hair, she has slightly larger nose but not overly large, her lips are decent sized with a nude color lipstick. I lean over and whisper to Blaze.
"So does she have a superpower?" I ask.
"Yeah, she can turn you into a Crystal with one touch." My eyes widen. "Nah, she's like the real Elsa except she's not as blue."
"OK, uh, hi, I'm Crystal as you all know since she I mean Althrik told you but, OK yeah. I will be teaching you how to hack using an everyday computer without leaving any traces. So now one of the first steps in this is knowing your device..." After we finished with that everyone did hand to hand combat, then it was time for bed for everyone. I lay in the dark with my eyes open. I can hear Blaze's breathing slow down and deepen as she drifts off to sleep. I close my eyes to try to fall asleep, but I can't. I see the gun in my hand raised, pointing at her as a tear slips down my face with the wind howling all around causing snow to fly in my face, stinging but not as much as what I was about to do. I barely hear the gunshot as I scream. I quickly sit up in bed shaking as I remember that night. I get up and head to the training center and I get my hand wraps on then start beating the punching bag. I suddenly feel a hand tap my shoulder I quickly grab their hand turning myself around to face them; I then see it's Bolt and I turn bright red.
"Hey, can you let go of my hand now?" He asks. I realize I had been holding onto his hand the whole time. I quickly drop it.
"Sorry." I say.
"Your fine. You know this is second time we met like this. I guess you couldn't sleep, so you came out here?" He asks
"Yeah something like that. Couldn't fall asleep either?" I ask him.
"Yeah it's just one of those restless nights. Are you nervous for tomorrow?"
"Only a little bit, it's weird to think that superpowers are even a thing."
"Yeah it is just a little. Do you want to go a round? I'll go easy on you." He smiles. 'Hm, he has a cute smile' I think to myself.
"Sure" I say. "And wait a minute do you think I can't kick your butt?" I ask suddenly, realizing what he had said.
"Well I might think that or maybe I'm just being a gentleman." He smirks.
"OK, So by asking me to spar your being a gentleman?" I ask incredulously.
"No, but by telling you that I will go easy on you is me being a gentleman." I can tell he's beginning to get exasperated.
"You really need to work on your definition of being a gentleman." I say while ducking to avoid his fist. After a bit I finally get him pinned "8...9...10!!" I say. "Ha!! Ladies and gentlemen that is how you properly kick someone's butt!!" I jokingly say.
"Except I went easy on you, So of course you beat me." He says grinning.
"Your just being a sore loser, but if you really want to we can try again to watch me kick your butt again." I say challenging him.
"OK we'll see." He says. After fighting for a bit he gets me pinned down and I struggle to get free. "Sorry, but it looks like I won." He grins. I stare into his eyes, and he stares back. I can start to feel his warm breath on my face getting closer to me as my heart rate picks up and I start feeling a little lightheaded as his and my lips brush, we start kissing more.
"Ahem you guys might want to keep it down if you are trying to be quiet." Blaze says. I freeze so does Bolt. We quickly both stand up looking like kids who were caught stealing cookies. Blaze is grinning from ear to ear. "So what are you guys doing up so late?" Blaze asks.
"Uh we were uh um training-um, sparring." I say stumbling over my words.
"Uh-huh and that deals with lips making contact. OK, I completely understand." Blaze sarcastically says "Oh and don't worry your secret's safe with me. Well goodnight you two!" She abruptly spins around and heads to her room laughing.
"Umm let's just, uh, I don't know...um, yeah." I say.
"Yeah OK." He says while he's beet red.
