Damon and I walked up the steps of my mother's porch, but I stopped before we reached the door. "I don't feel good," I told Damon. My husband furrowed his brows and moved to stand in front of me.
"What's wrong, darling?" He asked, his large hand rubbing my arms comfortingly.
"I feel like I have to puke," I sighed.
"Say the word and we'll go home."
"No, no. It's thanksgiving," I replied and he frowned at me. Before he could argue the front door opened behind him. "Hey, Jer."
"My favorite cousin is here!" Jeremy grinned, stepping outside and hugging me tightly. I chuckled and wrapped my arms around him.
"Well, let them in," my mother's voice rang. Jeremy let me go and Damon wrapped an arm around my waist, tugging me inside the house. My mother pulled us both in a large hug before saying dinner was almost ready.
"Okay, thanks momma," Damon smiled and she pat his shoulder before walking off into the kitchen. We looked around to see everyone was here already: Jeremy, Derek, Caroline and Joey, Ric and Jo, Matt, Tyler Enzo and Nadine, Sheriff Forbes, and of course Elena but to my surprise Kai and Bonnie.
"Hey, everyone," Damon greeted, tugging y coat from my shoulders. We got a few waves and hi's. Caroline got up to hug me as did her fiancé Joey, Enzo and Nadine, Tyler, and my brother. Ric on the other hand was quick to and Damon a bottle of whiskey and usher all the men to head outside for chatting and drinking.
"So how are you? How was LA?" Caroline asked, tugging me into the living room.
"Fun. Lots of parties an award shows and stuff. We had a good time, but it's the holidays so we flew back to be here with my mom and you all," I smiled at her but refused to sit. "I'm gonna head into the kitchen, I'm a little thirsty."
"There's wine," Nadine informed me and I nodded before leaving the room. I headed into the kitchen where my mom was with Nikki and Jo along with Joey's kids sitting at the dining room table nearby.
Nikki and Jo both greeted me warmly and I forced a smile to them both. I leaned against a counter far from the three women cooking. My hands on either side of my flat baby bump. It was growing though, I felt it. "You okay? Why are you holding your stomach, sweetie? Cramps?" My mom asked and I shrugged.
I dropped my hands and moved away to face the back for to look outside at the yard. "So what's new with you and Damon?" Nikki asked me. "We didn't talk long a few nights ago at Gigi and Kendall's party."
"Oh, nothing. We both go back to work on Monday. Other than that? Not much," I said and she nodded.
The three of them continued to talk and eventually I stepped outside in the backyard with Caroline, Nadine, Tyler, Matt, and Jeremy. The six of sat at my moms large patio table, playing cards and laughing as we reminisced.
Until we got to more serious stuff. Caroline's wedding coming in June. How Jeremy was doing in school. Nadine and Enzo planning to move to Europe with Nikki and her boyfriend Paul. Matt and his long time girlfriend Alexa breaking up. Then Tyler's plans for the summer after graduating college this year, which was going to Tokyo with his girlfriend to meet her family. "What about you, Sky?" Jeremy asked.
"Uh, well, Damon and I kinda have big news. Not sure if we're gonna tell you all today or not only because so many people are missing. Like important people," I chuckled nervously.
"Like who?" Tyler scoffed.
"Like Stefan and Hayley. Or my other best friends, Taylor and Kol."
"I vote you tell us," Caroline said.
