"Babe? Why are you up?" Damon asked as I came waddling into the kitchen where he was making dinner. He left me on the couch only ten minutes ago.

"Elena's pregnant!" I shouted.

"What? Calm down. And stop yelling," he said.

"Look!"

"Darling, sit down," Damon said, moving the few feet to where I stood, leaning against the fridge. "Are my babies okay?" He asked softly, rubbing my stomach.

"Yes, they're fine. Mommy isn't," I snapped, smacking his hands.

"I wasn't asking you," he retorted, rolling his eyes.

"You're not listening either."

"Okay, okay? What? What do you need to show me? You're making a fuss and stressing yourself out when you should be resting."

"You weren't worried about me resting with the quickie we had less than an hour ago," I quipped, reminding him of how when he came home after storming off about me joking on IG about if I met Stefan first. He was rather upset about the whole thing. With reassurance it was joke and a reminder that I wasn't Katherine or Elena, or any other girl that wanted them both, he was over it and taking my offer to kiss and make up. Which led to sex.

"You're the one who said hurry up because you were hungry and the kids finally weren't kicking. So I hurried," he scoffed.

"Whatever," I dismissed. "Elena is pregnant."

"With Chace's baby?" He asked, furrowing his eyebrows in complete confusion to match his equally confused face.

"Yes! But does that even matter?"

"Kinda. He and I went to a game last night—"

"Not the point! Why are you so annoying?" I growled, shoving my phone in his chest. "Would you just look at this bullshit."

"Why are you so upset?" He asked, sighing. He took my phone and placed it on the counter without looking at it. His hands grasped my waist and pulled me to him until my large belly was the only thing coming between us. My body melted under his soft gaze and his caressing hands. He was succeeding in calming my hormonal ass down. "Hmm? Who cares that she's pregnant?"

"It's not fair," I pouted. "I was pregnant first."

"Skylar," he frowned. "It's not a competition."

"She's stealing my spotlight. I've had to share my friends, you for crying out loud, and my birthday for years now. She couldn't let me have this?" I cried.

"I doubt this was planned. The two have been dating for like two seconds, darling. And what's so bad about her being pregnant now? Think about it. In three months we'll be parents. And she'll barely have a baby bump. You'll be a mom first."

"I'm being selfish aren't I?"

"Yes," he laughed. I narrowed my eyes and he leaned down to peck my lips. "Why is it such a big deal after so long to share a birthday with her?"

"It's not my birthday I'm worried about. It's you."

"What does that mean?" He frowned, caressing my cheek now.

"You've shared your attention between us. I'm your wife. I want to be spoiled on my day. Even if it's her day too. I want to be spoiled by you and not see you two together."

"You still upset over everything?" He asked, pressing his forehead to mine. "Because I'm so sorry. I didn't want you to feel like you were ever sharing me. But it is her birthday too. Not everyone can only love and pay attention to you. That's not fair. You know how devastating it would be if everyone—"
