"Hey, shorty

"Hey, shorty." Her brother, Scott spoke as soon as she answered the phone. Hayley worried as her brother didn't call unless it was an emergency. Letters were their thing as it was more intimate so she couldn't come up with a plausible reason for why he called but she knew it had to be important. He would only ever call if it was emergency or he needed a favour from his favourite person.

Hayley rolled her eyes, "You're so annoying. What do you want? You wouldn't call unless it was something important."

As much as the siblings liked to annoy each other, no one knew Scott like Hayley did and vice versa. They weren't blood related but they loved each other nonetheless and cared about each other.

"Gray and Zach are coming to visit and I know you haven't seen them in a while and as busy as I know you are, please spend some time with them. Their supposed to be with Claire today but can you show them around tomorrow? They miss you, especially Gray." Scott practically pleaded his sister. She knew he would only beg if he was desperate, besides she loved her two little nephews and with her previous job, she rarely got to spend time with them so she hoped it could finally change.

Hayley smiled, "Of course. I love the two munchkins. I promise I will find the time for my two wonderful nephews. Don't worry, Scotty. They're in good hands, I'll keep an eye on them, don't worry."

Scott sighed in relief, "Thank you. I'll talk to you later, pumpkin pie."

"You're welcome, Lanky Giant."

"Owen, what are you doing here?" Hayley asked in confusion when she saw Owen standing by her door

"Owen, what are you doing here?" Hayley asked in confusion when she saw Owen standing by her door. It had been a day full of paperwork and she had spent her day locked in her office. She had done what her brother had asked and called her nephews, to find out how their day was going. To be fair, it pissed Hayley off that Claire had put off spending her time with the boys as she adored them.

Owen smiled as he walked into her office, "Claire needs our help."

"We've been pre-booking tickets for months. The park needs a new attraction every few years in order to reinvigorate the public's interest. Kind of like the space program. Corporate felt genetic modification would up the wow factor." Claire explained as they all got out of the car.

"They're dinosaurs. Wow enough." Hayley replied confused as Owen agreed with her. They walked up the stairs, Claire first then Hayley followed by Owen.

"Not according to our focus groups. The Indominus rex makes us relevant again." Claire spoke.

"The Indominus rex?" Owen snorted in amusement. Hayley tried not to laugh but it was hard as Owen began grinning at her,

"We needed something scary and easy to pronounce. You should hear a four-year-old try to say 'Archaeornithomimus.'" Claire replied with slight annoyance.

"You should hear you try to say it." Owen replied before Hayley smacked his arm. As fun as it was to annoy Claire, she was family. "So what's this thing made of?" He asked when they finally walked through the door.

"The base genome is a T. rex. The rest is classified." Claire replied.

Hayley looked at her in disbelief, "You made a new dinosaur, but you don't even know what it is?"

"The lab delivers us finished assets, and we show them to the public. Can we drop a steer, please?" Claire spoke to the control guy.

"How long has the animal been in here?" Owen questioned.

"All its life." Claire replied.

"Never seen anything outside of these walls?" Hayley asked to confirm.

Claire rolled her eyes, "We can't exactly walk it."

"And you feed it with that?" Owen spoke as he pointed at the crane that had a piece of meet on it.

"Is there a problem?"

"Animals raised in isolation aren't always the most functional." Hayley explained.

"Your T.Rex was born in captivity and Do was Owen's Raptors."

"We have a bond, she's learnt to trust me and I have a team that interacts with her on a daily basis. Owen's Raptors were both with siblings. They learn social skills. And he imprinted on them when they're born. There's trust. The only positive relationship this animal has is with that crane. At least she knows that means food." Hayley explained as Owen looked at her rather proudly. He admired her understanding and determination as well as the way she carried herself.

"So, she needs a friend. We should schedule play-dates? That sort of thing?" Claire scoffed.

"Probably not a good idea." Owen spoke to try and defuse the tension between the two women.

"Where is it?" Claire sighed as she knocked on the glass.

"Is it in the basement? Is there a downstairs? Maybe it's in the rec room." Owen joked.

"It was just here. We were just here." Claire spoke in confusion. When she ran a thermal scan of the padlock, it didn't look good. It appeared the Indominus Rex wasn't even in the padlock.

Hayley decided to take a look around the padlock from where she stood and it wasn't good. "Well, shit." She spoke.

Owen and Claire looked at her in confusion. "Were those claw marks always there?" She asked as she pointed towards the wall that clearly had claw marks. Both Claire and Owen's eyes widened in shock.

Shit was about to happen.
