"i can't stay long. i just had to see you."

"What are you doing here?"

Younghyun tries to be angry, but there's no fighting it; Jae looks so sad, and Younghyun has always been soft for Jae.

"I can't stay long," Jae says, fiddling with the hem of his sweater. Pink, Younghyun notices – and of course it's pink, of course Jae is wearing something two sizes too big even on his terribly lanky frame, of course Jae hasn't changed in the slightest – which, great. That'll do wonders to help Younghyun get over him. "I just had to see you."

Silence. Younghyun doesn't know what to say, so he blurts out, "Dowoon told me. About him."

Jae doesn't say anything. Younghyun plows on.

"About Wonpil."

And on Jae's face – recognition, almost? Younghyun doesn't know, can't really tell. Has it been so long that he can't read Jae anymore?

"I hope you're happy with him," Younghyun says. "Wonpil is – Wonpil is sweet. I'm happy for you."

"Wonpil didn't stick around," Jae says, his voice sharp for the first time since he's arrived. "He said he wasn't going to stay with someone who was so clearly in love with someone else."

Younghyun blinks. "What, you have a thing for sungjin?"

"I have a thing for you."

His voice is bitter. Younghyun startles at that, scrambles to exclaim, "But you left me! You ended it, not me, not mutually – "

"I can't stay long," Jae repeats. "I'll see you around, Younghyun."

"Jae – "

He leaves, and if Younghyun stands staring at the door for hours after he leaves, no one needs to know.
