"The city of New Bern , located on one of the river channels from the Atlantic Ocean , was founded in 1710 by a Swiss nobleman . It has kept its old fashioned sense of style and has brought in tourists from many different places because of this style .

A stroll through the town's tree-lined streets reveals a virtual cornucopia of American architectural styles ranging from 18th-century vernacular houses to dignified Federal townhouses to magnificent Victorian mansions ," a speaker said as Casey walked past a large group of people gathered around them . It was New Bern day , a day on which the town celebrated its history . Chastain and Jonah had agreed to take Casey around the city to see its many sites on this 'wondrous' day .

"What's destination number one on the list ?" Casey asked , chewing on a candied apple .

"There ." Chastain pointed to a street sign labeled 'Queen St' and took a bite out of his own candied apple .

"Probably the best street to go if you're hungry as hell ," Jonah chuckled . The three stopped and looked up at the sign as if they were adventurers about to begin their final quest . Their first stop was an old store turned new called 'AJ's Froste Shoppe' . After chuckling at the blue neon sign that read the name of the shop , they walked in and Chastain was immediately greeted by the workers there who wore navy shirts and white overalls . The walls were white with small quotes in blue , and several students from phhs were seated at the blue old fashioned tables .

"Cousin , we've got a newcomer ," Chas said , pointing to Casey . A guy with blonde hair and blue streaks poked his head out of a room labeled 'AJ Frosty' and squinted in Chas' direction .

"Gotcha . Maurice , whip up this man some snow ," he said . Maurice gave a thumbs up and scooped blue italian ice into a cup behind the glass . He set the glass down and used a hand held blender to mix it up , pouring it into a styrofoam cup . After pouring a clear liquid onto the ice , he set it on the marble counter and handed Casey a spoon . AJ walked up to the counter and inspected the contents of the cup and placed a sticker on it saying 'AJ Approved' . Casey smiled .

"You know I'm gonna come through with that good good , kid ," he smiled . "On the house . Welcome to New Bern , kid . Welcome to AJ's ." After handing the cup to Casey and embarking on a conversation with Chas , AJ made a cup for him and Jonah , then bid them farewell .

"Well go on , try it ," Chas said , his mouth already the color of his bright pink italian ice . Casey took a bite and was immediately knee deep in a sensational adventure of tastes . It was a mixture of blue raspberry and pina colada .

"Holy hell ," he chuckled .

"Exactly ," Jonah said , practically almost finished with his own cup . "AJ is Chas' cousin so all his friends get free Frostes every now and then . You could probably tell by the strikingly good looks ."

"Mmhmm .." Casey just smiled and nodded , getting into his Froste now ."

"Now , let me guess , craving chips ?" Jonah asked , setting the 'AJ Approved' sticker on his shirt and tossing his cup into a trash can .

"How the hell-" Casey said before looking up to see a big sign saying 'THE CHIP COMPANY' looming over them . The interior of the building had a rustic feel to it , wooden beams providing structure to the wooden ceiling . Barn lights hung from this ceiling , sending a friendly glow onto to ground . The three took a seat at the bar and Chastain ordered them a basket of chips called 'Bear Basket' and a side of regular chips for Casey to try . The Bear Basket was topped with loads of cheese , chives , and bacon bits . Since it was his first time at the restaurant , Casey received a paper Bear Mask that only covered the front of his face and sneaked two more for Jonah and Chas . The normal chips were good enough by themselves , but Casey could barely handle the Bear Basket .
