Anna and I went down to the train platform with the boys on the first day of winter vacation.
"Be sure to write."
"And we'll send our presents Christmas Eve."
"Say hi to your Mum for us."
"Try not to miss us too much." Anna and I said to our boyfriends respectively.
Fred wrapped his arms around me and lifted me off the ground, hugging me tightly. "I'm gonna miss you." He whispered in my ear.
"Same here."
"It's not too late to get on the train with me, you know." He smiled.
"Yes it is. I don't have anything with me..."
"You could wear my clothes." Fred said with a classic smirk.
"I'm not sure my dad or your mum would like that much." I laughed. "Besides, it's only two weeks."
"Exactly! Two whole weeks!" Fred groaned.
The whistle on the Hogwarts Express blew with a high pitch, shrill sound.
"Fred!" I exclaimed. "You're going to miss the train!"
"Fine." He sighed, looked defeated.
"Hey." I said, kissing him lightly. "I love you."
"I love you too." He smiled at me before he stepped on to the train with George. Within thirty seconds, he stuck his head out of a window. "Be sure to owl me." He smirked.
"Don't worry, there'll be one waiting for you when you get home." The train started moving and his smirk turned into a forced grin. I could tell by looking in his eyes that he wasn't happy about this. I didn't even think about it first, but I started running after the train as if I was trying to catch it. I had to stop running when the platform ended, but I made sure to yell out one final “I love you!" before he got too far away. The train gave a final whistle and it was gone.
"Is it wrong that I already miss him?" Anna asked as the two of us walked back to Hogwarts.
"No, this really is the first time any of us have been apart in a few years, not counted when you were petrified last year."
"Do you miss Fred?"
"Considering he's been away for better part of the past five minutes.... yeah."
"I really wish there was a way to communicate with them that's quicker than owl."
"Yeah... Wait a second... We could do that!"
Anna and I spent some of our abundant free time that first week of vacation developing our new product.
"We gave the Map to Harry." Anna told Dad one morning when the three of us sat in his living quarters. It sort of became a habit for the three of us to get together and read. Reading was always something Anna and I enjoyed and I was pleased to learn that Remus had similar thoughts on the subject.
