Death, death, and more death. It's all I see now. My whole city and life fell apart when the virus started to spread in late 2021. I was a loner until I decided to take over a city on the outskirts of Philadelphia; which is where I met my new friends and the people I have been surviving with for three years. There are about 1,900 people in the entire community which helped a lot. The disease only infected the people that were at least 18 or older, unless you're bit, but we make sure no one does so we have a lot of children living here. I am a fourteen-year-old boy that leads this community. We have defended this place for three years from all outside threats. That all changed when my best friend who was with me when the disease first started, betrayed me and killed my girlfriend.
I was angry at myself for believing that he and I could save this world together. He took over the White House in Washington D.C. and is now calling himself the president of the community. They have the biggest and strongest people I have ever seen and they have at least 1,400 people in the city and is all clean of infection. Anyone that becomes 18 is beheaded and he is only 15 now. He thought betraying me was the right thing to do. I think he made a big mistake.
He saw me as a weak human being and tried his best to assassinate me, but my girlfriend sacrificed herself for me and saved my life before he could kill me. The bullet went right through her chest and he turned and ran away. That is where my story shall begin.....
