I Can't Hear You

I say it in a sing-song voice
Running away from the fear and the pain.
I am laughing, the wind in my hair
And a song of freedom on my lips.

I dance and put up the middle finger
Unafraid of the sinister figures pursuing me.
I can outrun them all and fight back now.
I sing it again and again - they will not hurt me anymore:

"I can't hear you!"
