The Way It Is

Sitting in the corner,
I smile as my friends wave at me.
It's not their fault at all;
Just the way it is.

Normally, in situations like these,
I'd be at the food table
With the other introverts.
We'd stuff ourselves,
Leaving no food for anyone else.

But there's no snack bar today.

There are no introverts today.

I don't bear any grudge, or self-pity.
I just accept how things are:
I don't need any emotion to do that.
