I looked at the castle and the architects that were building it. The gold reflected the sunshine making it glow. I thought it was dumb to paint it with gold. We aren't the richest country. We're probably the poorest, weakest, new country in the world. I looked at the forest.
"Eric!" A boy yelled as he ran up to me. He was wearing only the best rags. "I mean, Prince Eric!"
"Don't call me that. I don't deserve this title." I said. Sure my Father is the founder of this kingdom but that doesn't mean we have to be the royal family, does it?
"You do deserve the title! Your family is the founding family! That's what it's called right?" he said. I laughed at his confusion.
"Alex, just don't even talk about it. Anyway, how you doing?" Alex has been my best friend since even before we left to come here.
"Good. Poor like usual. But still good." he replied. I have told him he can borrow money from me multiple times. He always refuses though.
"You always loved your life. Even though your poor. Have you ever been in the forest bordering the city before?"
"No not really. I've heard there's been a lot of dangers in the forest lately. But it's probably just myths." he answered.
"Why don't we explore it then?" then one of my guards walked up to me.
"I'm sorry your highness but you can't go into the forest." the guard said. I knew someone would say that. I sat down and talked to Alex some more.
