Chapter 10- MOM?!

Finally she answered "My sword was given to me by my husband. Your father."
"Impossible, my father only ever had one wife, my mother!" I replied.
"You don't get it. I am your mother." she answered. She pulled her hood down and we were able to see her face better. She had brown hair like me and my siblings. Her eyes were blue, just barely lighter than my fathers. Most of the facial features matched Ashley's, some even matching my own and Dan's. She wore an expensive gold necklace with many diamonds on it, one similar to the one my father gave my mother on their anniversary. Dan lowered the gun.
"It can't be..." I said. My mother had been missing since the day my father told us that we would be moving to a place in the Shadow Forest. "Your lying... You have to be." I didn't believe her.
"I'm not." She replied as if she was about to cry.
"What proof do you have that your not lying?" I couldn't believe her. Me and my siblings thought she had died.
That's when she pulled a piece of paper from the bag she had. "Read it." She said when handing it to me. It was a note from my father, telling his love and hopes for my mother. I remembered my father talking about it. He left it at the door of our old house when we left.
"Its true." after saying that there was silence.
A few minutes later the assassin spoke, "Now that the moments over, can I get back to my job?"
Dan raised the gun back at the assassin. "Why are you trying to assassinate us?" Dan asked.
"That is a reason I wouldn't like to tell." the assassin answered.
"Tell us or we'll shoot" I replied.
"He's greedy and wants to kill you, your siblings, and your father. He thinks then he can get riches and power." our mother answered.
"Why does he think he'll get any of that? If he's caught he'll be killed." I replied.
"Because he is your uncle. He thinks that if your whole family were to die, he would inherit everything." It was the final thing she said before there was another pause and silence fell over the room once more.
