"Follow your brain. Your heart is stupid as shit." -Unknown

Dear Diary,

I'm thinking of investigating a bit my family tree. That way I may find out who was the first Carter to ever throw a Christmas party... or maybe back then it was a Winter Ball... either way, I'd then know who to blame for this stupid tradition. Why am I so negative about the subject? Oh boy, where to begin?

-Flashback-

"I still can't believe Mother invited you two to such a thing. She must have really irritated Father on the subject for him to approve of this." I said with the smallest of amused smiles as I sat cross-legged on my blue-sheet bed. Laying on my bed next to me was non other than my talkative friend and sitting on my office chair opposite us was our main gay. I had to admit I was happy they were here with me. Otherwise I have no idea how I would have survived yet another Christmas party, let alone our Christmas party.

"Okay, why wouldn't he approve of us attending this party? Am I supposed to feel offended now?" Miranda asked with a playful grin and a raised brow.

"Because we're not high standard Ministry wizards. Obviously." Jason said then, a smile similar to Miranda's on his face.

"No kidding. I wonder how you survive in these fancy things." Miranda chuckled as I frowned recalling some of the parties I had attended in the past. "I can't wait to make fun of every single person tonight! Not out loud of course, don't worry Blue. That's one of he main reasons I came. Not that seeing you two isn't a reason enough! My other main reasons though were that I always wanted to see your house -it's freaking huge!-, that I always wanted to meet your other siblings, I'm sure Eleanor isn't as annoying as you make her sound, also Jay would kill me if we didn't come cause he always wanted to go to one of these stupid, fancy things, especially in one with a one hundred percent chance of your brother in a tuxedo-"

"Mira! Don't say things like that here! For all we know he could be passing outside Esme's room!" Jason blushed as he said, cutting off Miranda's ongoing blubber.

I raised my eyebrow at him. "You... always wanted to attend a Ministry party?" I asked him.

"A Ministry party, a Ball... anything that involves dancing and fancy clothing. I know it sounds stupid but in events like these I feel like we are in a fairytale Royal Ball. I want the chance to be like a male version of Cinderella and get one night to dance with my prince." Jason said with a slight blush as he seemingly forgot about Miranda and I and stared dreamingly at the wall, lost in his own thoughts.

Miranda and I shared a look as we then looked back at Jason and started laughing. I chuckled lightly as she burst into loud laughter. That snapped Jason out of his thoughts as he glared at us lightly with a deepened red blush.

"That was literally so gay." Miranda commented with a teasing tone as Jason's blush started to faint away.

"Yeah well, so am I." he said with a roll of his eyes as Miranda, and sometimes also me, continued on teasing him.

As time passed we eventually went downstairs for snacks, something Mother had planned to get a chance to talk to Miranda and Jason more.

"So, how exactly did you three meet?" Mother asked us as we got some cookies from the coffee table in the living room. All the family, except for Damian, were in there. All because they were curious about my friends. They really should all mind their own business...

All three of us looked at each other and I could see the lightest shade of pink forming on Jason's cheeks. When I first met him it was because Miranda dragged him over to me to ask if my brother was homosexual because he has a crush on him.
