⇒ Be the new girl
To say the least, you were not excited for the day. As of today, you'd be starting your first day at Hussie High School, likely named after the founder. You were a junior and therefore were well aware that high school was an absolute joke, though a joke you legally were required to go to. Setting your grievances aside you did your normal morning routine consisting of cleaning up and dressing. After brushing your teeth you checked your cell phone for the time. 'Shit! I'm gonna be late!' You panicked and grabbed a light jacket before rushing out the door with your belongings. You started on a light jog to the school. Luckily it wasn't too far, just a few blocks. The school was finally in sight and you checked your phone again for the time. Thank every higher being that existed, you had just enough time to get your schedule from the office and find your first period. The office was to the right of the doors you just walked in so it was easy to find. Approaching the receptionist, "Hello, I'm a new student, (first name) (last name). I need my schedule." you requested. The woman looked at you in slight annoyance but didn't say anything, typing on her computer. What a friendly woman. You were about to repeat yourself though she beat you to it. "It's on the printer to the left." You looked to the left and sure enough, there was a printer with your schedule on it. Retrieving the paper you made sure it was actually yours. It displayed your full name, grade, teachers, lunch, and your locker combination. It was surprising she got your name right in order to search for it.
Your first hour was trigonometry in hall A, room 6. Alright sounds cool, now to find it. You presumed hall A was downstairs and probably near here somewhere. The warning bell had just rung and students were hustling to their respective classes. You were lucky in the fact that each hallway stated the classes in its wing. Rooms 1-5 were on the left and 6-10 were on the left, prompting you to go to the left. It was the first room so you walked in just as the final bell had rung. You gulped slightly, eyeing the room. Most seats were taken though you didn't know anyone here. Whatever, it was the first day. It didn't matter where you sat so you concluded that the nearest desk free to the door was now yours. You sat down and placed your bag next to you. The teacher stood up to introduce himself and then made the class play some stupid icebreaker game. You hated this of course. You didn't care whether Tommy liked the color blue and football, nor that Justine went to Europe on summer break. You played along anyway, though this same thing happened for your next 3 periods. However, in your third class, you met a girl named Jade. She seemed sweet, though a little awkward. She had long, dark hair with tanned skin and the greenest eyes you'd ever seen. She informed you that she loved dogs, plants, and had an awful memory. You shared that you just moved here from (city name) and were a fan of dogs as well. Jade let you know that you could sit at her lunch table with her friends if you had the same lunch. You did indeed share the same lunch and told her you'd take her up on her offer.
After that exchange, the bell had rung and you parted ways. You had first lunch. Finding the cafeteria in this cluster of students would be interesting. Perhaps you should've stayed with Jade. You began aimlessly shoving you was through students in hope of finding the lunch room. Eventually, you did find it and you entered the double doors. Scanning the room you met the emerald eyes of Jade. She waved you over and you approached her, sitting down in the seat next to her. "Guys, this is the (Name) I was talking about! (Name) that Dirk, Roxy, and Rose." Jade grinned as she pointed to each person. They all nodded or smiled in greetings. Roxy looked oddly familiar, though you didn't have the courage to discuss whether you knew her or not yet. "Oui, (Name), what're your next 3 classes?" Jake questioned. "Oh uhh..." You pulled out the paper that had been placed in your back pocket. "History with Ms.Mindfang, Art with Mrs.Disciple, and Chem with Mr.Dualscar." It wasn't until just now that you'd realized how strange the names of the teachers were. "I believe you have History with Dirk and Art with Roxy, as well as Chemistry with me." Rose chimed in. "Sounds cool, would anyone mind telling me where said classes are?" You requested. "I'm sure Dirk can take you to your next class. Do you have a Pesterchum, if you do I can send you a map of the school?" Jake said. "Yeah, it's (chat handle)." You were a little unsure of giving out your personal contacts yet, though he seemed friendly enough. He nodded and typed on his phone, presumably to add you and send you the map. You all chatted a bit until lunch was dismissed. "Bye (Name)!" Jade grinned and waved. You put your backpack on and turned to leave. "Yo, dont you want help gettin to class?" Dirks' voice scared you a bit, you hadn't expected him to actually assist you. "Um sure, if it's not any trouble." You said with a bit of uncertainty. "Nah I don't mind." It was somewhat awkward as you trailed behind him silently. You followed him through the busy hallways, though looked down for just a moment. When you looked back up again the boy was nowhere to be seen. You searched for his spiky blond hair in the sea of people but didn't see him. "Dirk? What the h-" You were stopped mid-sentence by your wrist being grabbed, pulling you to your companion. You lightly fell into him, though he didn't flinch and instead kept walking with his hand latched around your wrist. You weren't sure how you felt about this contact with a stranger, but he clearly wasn't going to let go. He lead you to class and released you as both of you entered the room.
