Chapter 17
The second I stepped out of the office I wanted to strangle Jade. Not only had she gotten me called down to the principal’s office but she had also embarrassed me in front of the entire class. Everyone knew that what had been written on the board was about me, and it was even more obvious that the person who wrote it was Jade. I began to walk away from her when she grabbed my arm.
“Since you’re so close to Harry, why don’t you bring him to the senior party tonight?” She said, “We would be happy to have him.”
I snatched my arm away.
“That will never happen.”
“Sure it will.” She handed me a piece of paper, “Here’s the address. I can’t wait to see you there.”
She skipped away as I stood there with my mouth open. What kind of idiot did she think I was? I had just gotten a week’s worth of detention because of her and she actually thought I would bring Harry to a party just so she could be all over him? I folded the paper and slid it into my pocket before heading to my locker. The moment I opened it I felt someone breathing down my neck, I turned around to see that it was Lana and Taisie.
“Did you get in trouble?” Taisie asked.
I slammed my locker.
“Wouldn’t you like to know.” I said, before walking away. They quickly followed after me.
“Oh, god. You aren’t still mad at us are you?”
I turned around and took a deep breath.
“No… I don’t think I am.” I looked up at them and smiled slightly, “I’ve been cruel to you guys. I don’t even remember why I was mad in the first place, but then I realized that it didn’t matter.”
They both smiled and encircled me in a hug.
“We’ve missed you so much, Paris.” Lana said through my hair.
I pulled away from them and sighed.
“Do you guys know anything about a senior party going on tonight?” I asked.
Lana and Taisie looked at eachother before jumping in excitement.
“Yeah, everyone’s going to be there.” Taisie said, “You should go so we can reintroduce you to all your friends.”
“Jade suggested that I bring Harry.” I said.
I put a finger to my lip and began to think about all the trouble I could get into if I were to bring Harry. Not only would a crowd of people be asking for his autograph, but the girls would be all over him. There was no way I could put myself through that kind of torture but I really needed him to be there with me. He had been my closest friend since the accident and there was no way I would be comfortable unless he came to the party.
“Jade only wants Harry there so she can have him all to herself. She is hoping she can seduce him before he goes off on another tour.” Taisie said.
“I know, but I honestly don’t think Harry would be interested in a girl like her anyways.”
Lana stared at me with wide eyes.
“Aren't you dating him?”
I laughed.
“Of course not, we are just really good friends.”
“Well, you like him don’t you?” Taisie chimed in, “Because you were basically worshipping him before the accident.”
I chuckled.
“I actually do think I like him… but just a little.”
Taisie raised her brow.
“You’re lying.” She said, “You know you love him.”
I opened up my mouth to protest but she wouldn’t have it.
“I think you should bring him to the party,” she said, “But make him wear a disguise or something so he won’t cause a frenzy.”
My eyes lit up, but then I frowned once I realized that people would probably recognize him anyway.
“What if people realize it’s him? What do I do then?”
Taisie patted me on the shoulder.
“Run out the back door as fast as you can.”
We all laughed before heading to our next class.
