Chapter 19
I ran through the house frantically looking for Harry. I had checked all the rooms in the house including the bathrooms but there was no sign of him anywhere. My heart was pounding against my chest and my fists were balled tightly in anger. I was just about to give up when I saw a group of guys standing by a door leading to the basement. There was a good chance that Jade had probably dragged Harry down there against his will and was planning on raping him or something. I approached the boys and they all looked down at me and smiled.
“Have any of you seen Jade?” I asked.
They all looked at each other and then one of them pointed down the stairs.
“I think I saw her go down there with some guy.” He said.
I thanked him and took one step down the stairs before feeling someone’s hand on my shoulder. I turned around and saw that it was one of the guys I had just talked to.
“Paris, I just want to say that I’m really sorry about your brother.” He said.
I stared into his eyes and as much as I wanted to cry, I didn’t
I smiled slightly before descending down the basement steps.
When I got to the bottom I saw a huge crowd of people huddled over by the bar. The lights were dimmed so I had to squint to make out certain faces. I was just about to make my way to the opposite side of the room when Taisie jumped up in front of me. Her hair was a tangled mess and she kept rocking back and forth like she was going to fall over at any second. I grabbed her by the shoulders and shook her in an attempt to bring her back to earth. She stared at me with wide eyes and then wiped at her nose.
“Taisie, I need you to help me find Marcel. Jade ran off with him.”
Taisie giggled and then gestured to a far off corner in the room.
“I just saw him; he was with like four other girls.”
I raised my chin.
“Really?”
“Yeah, but I think he was looking for you.”
She had barely finished her sentence when I headed off to find Harry and the group of girls Taisie had supposedly seen him with. I took a deep breath preparing for the worst and then I saw him standing awkwardly in the corner with Jade hovering over him. He must have seen me coming because he was mouthing the words “Help me” and trying to get as far away from her as possible. I snatched a glass of water from the bar in case I needed to use it before approaching them.
“Jade, what the hell are you doing?”
She turned around and then smiled mockingly at me.
“Oh, hey Paris.” She said, running her hand through Harry’s perfectly combed hair, “I don’t think you know how lucky you are to have such a handsome boyfriend.”
I rolled my eyes and almost threw the water on her when she aggressively pulled Harry toward her. His eyes grew wide and once again he mouthed for me to help him, but I waited.
“I was just telling Marcel about how great he looks in glasses.” She slowly removed his specs revealing his deep green colored eyes, “but I think he looks much better without them.”
I was just about to say something when she grabbed him by the cheeks and kissed him. Harry immediately pushed her off and ran to my side. The room felt like it was spinning and my anger grew so strong that I couldn’t even hear myself think anymore.
“You are such a bitch.” I said, and before I could stop myself I punched her square in the face. She fell to the floor and laid there for a few seconds before launching herself at me.
