I promised
I loved
I can't
But I shone.

I was there for you
I warned you
I was yours
I won't
But I shone.

I laughed
I cried
I lied
I hide
But I shone.

I hoped you would
I thought so
I guess not
I didn't
But I can't shine anymore.

You lie.
You weren't there.
Drifting through darkness,
I was the light.
You were the kerosene.
But, guess what?

I run on batteries, bitch.

Backstory

"Shine" is about being brought down by somebody you love. Instead of living in the past, push onward into a more promising future knowing that only you have the ability to make yourself the best you can be. Don't let anybody ever bring you down!
