Knowing that his great great grandfather was not Ernesto de la Cruz who he found out murdered his actual great great grandfather was a lot to process in Miguel's mind.
Currently, He and Hector were stuck in a deep pit that there seemed to be no way out. What was worse, Coco was slowly forgetting her father.
Hector smiled lovingly and longingly at the family photo.
"I always hoped, I'd see her again. Maybe put up my photo, but it never happened. You know the worst part, even if I never get to see Coco from the Living World. Once she's gone -"
"You'll disappear from this world. You'll never get to see her" Miguel said with a cold chill up on his spine "Ever again" Hector added on with a pained smile.
"You know, I wrote a song about her once. We use to play it together no matter how far apart we are"
Hector closed his eyes as he reminisced the memory, that sweet and memorable memory.
Remember me
Though I have to say goodbye
Remember me
Don't let it make you cryNot far from where Miguel and Hector are, Angelita picked up a soft melody somewhere down below. Holding down her vomit, she called "I think I hear something! Go down"
For even if I'm far away
I hold you in my heart
I sing a secret song to you
Each night we are apartAngelita slid off Pepita's back and Mama Imelda froze under the lullaby of the song. She had heard that song many times from that Ernesto but this...
She hadn't heard it since he left.
Remember me
Though I have to travel far
Remember me
Each time you hear a sad guitarMiguel suddenly felt a soft and small voice from the back of his mind sing and the image of Mama Coco when she was about 5 years old singing with Hector went into his mind.
Know that I’m with you
The only way that I can be
Until you’re in my arms again
Remember meBy now, Angelita had tears in her eyes "I didn't know that jazzy Remember Me could be sung as a lullaby!" Mama Imelda looked at Angelita.
"It was.." She trailed off, making Angelita confused "Was?" Before Imelda could explain further, loud and passionate gritos reached their ears.
"I know Miguel's when I hear it" Angelita grinned as a high pitch and childish grito reached her.
Dante barked and ran towards the sound with enthusiasm and howled out in response. Mama Imelda clambered on Pepita's back and followed after Dante while Angelita preferably ran.

Laughter filled the air as I watched Miguel laughed with joy at the sight of Pepita. Mama Imelda chuckled in reply before her gaze hardened when they meet up with Hector.
"Imelda!" Hector gasped in shock, rubbing his bony arm in the process.
"Hector..."
"Hola Hector!"
I waved and he gave me a grin before it turned sheepish under Imelda. Miguel and I locked gazes and I think my face must have set into a frown because Miguel was also frowning.
"Miguel..."
I whispered under my breath and I caught Mama Imelda staring at me and at Miguel before she shook her head.
