Darkness welcomed me like a soft blanket being wrapped around you but the thing is...

I feel like I'm sleeping on something hard.

I groggily opened my eyes and heard the sound of birds twittering and chirping in the distance. I rubbed my head and looked around and saw the still body of Miguel.

I grew confused. What the heck happened and where are we?

As soon as my faze rested on the guitar, memories started to slam into me like fast paced beats it was giving me a headache.

Our adventure in the Land of the Dead, meeting our family and Hector disappearing.

HECTOR!

I scramble up to my feet before trying to shake Miguel awake "Miguel wake up! We don't have much time left!" I kept on shaking and slapping him before he moved and groaned.

"Angelita..?"

"We have to hurry! Hector is -" I couldn't bear to say "fading" because it would only torment me on Hector's faded body.

Miguel's eyes widen as he spotted the guitar and grabbed it. We both dashed out of the tomb and ran towards our homes in hopes that we could make it in time.

"Not So Fast ¡Mija!"

I felt an arm grab me and I gave a yelp. Miguel skidded to a stop to turn back but I shouted "Keep Going! You have to get to Mama Coco" Miguel nodded before he ran away.

I was forced to turn around to meet the eyes of my Abuelito. He didn't look happy "What were you and Miguel thinking?! Running off like that!?" Abuelito glared and dragged me home.

If mi familia wasn't so worried about me running of to who knows where, I would have reminisce the smell of home.

"Angelita!"

"Where have you been?!"

"Do you have any idea how worried we all were!"

I wanted to speak to them but I knew the wouldn't believe me even if I tried and the only thing that came into my mind was...

"Can I see Papa Jose?"

Silence fell before Antonio answered "He is busy sleeping in his room" I shook my head before standing up and walking towards Papa Jose's room.

As soon as I saw Mama stand up from the corner of my eye, I lurched forward and locked the door behind me.

Panicked, I heard knocking and banging on the other side and heard muffled voices but my attention was drawn to the frail man lying on the bed, weak and pale.

Papa Jose.

He rarely ever goes out because he always sees and hears music from all around and literally locks himself on the room.

"Papa Jose..."

Silence ensured and I could barely hear the banging on the door when I heard the faintest voice.

"Mama..."

I hesitantly took a step forward when.

TAP.

I accidentally hit the wooden floor and froze when I saw Papa Jose's head lift up a bit.

Could it be...
