Chapter 2: Back to Hogwarts

Draco's PoV

"Blaise, this is outrageous! I can't believe the ministry is making us go with these marriage laws. What if I get put with a w***e like brown or a mudblood like Granger or a Hufflepuff like Abbott?" I said. I was crazy furious. Dad had been put in azkaban and mum didn't talk anymore. I was in a sticky situation.

"Draco, mate. It's not like it's the end of the world." Blaise said. Blaise was like that, nice and calm about everything. He should have been a Hufflepuff.

"Blaise! I cannot believe it. Even my cousin can't. Shes been locked up on her room all day muttering about the stupid laws and cursing the whole d**m world! I tried to talk to her, but she almost hexed me into next Tuesday." I said, putting a hand on his head.

"To be honest, I wouldn't mind being put with your cousin." Blaise said, laughing.I gave him a death glare. He laughed even harder and I sighed. It was going to be interesting this year.

Hermione's PoV

I waited on the platform. Celestia, Ginny, and Luna were waiting for me.

"Hey guys!" I said. Celestia turned toward me.

"Did you see the new law? They must be crazy!" Celestia said with irritation. Ginny looked around.

"Let's get a compartment, or at least find Neville." Ginny said. They nodded and Celestia led the front. Ginny and Hermione looked nervously at each other, knowing Celestia could burst at any moment.

We eventually found the compartment that Neville was in and sat down. A few minutes after, Harry and Ron sat down. Ginny and I said a quick hello before talking again. Celestia was about to burst with rage and Luna was reading the quibbler. Neville was looking nervously from Celestia to Luna then back again.

When they got to Hogwarts, McGonagall stood up and quieted the hall so the first years could come in. It wasn't that many, to be honest. Gryffindor got five, Hufflepuff got seven, Slytherin got two, and ravenclaw got two as well. I was surprised Hufflepuff got as many as they did, but I was glad. They needed a bit more glory.

We ate and talked. After the feast, McGonagall told all the seventh year to stay behind.

"Now, as you know, we have a new law this year. Since the wizarding population decreased by 64.9% during the warning, all seventh years in Hogwarts, bouabattons, and durmstrang are to be paired with their soulmate. Those of you that are returning applies as well. Now, over the next week, we are going to be putting you through tests and letting you settle into your new dorms. Testing starts tomorrow. Be here before breakfast. Have a good night everyone, and sleep tight." McGonagall finished. I could tell Celestia wanted to scream, but she didn't. I went to sleep, wondering what would happen the following morning.
