Where did she get those bruises, and cuts, and scars?! I lost control and made my mind in a second, that I'm going to take her to my house. My home. She clings onto me, most likely afraid of falling off. We get there and she tries getting off by herself, but I'm quicker and pick her up, bridal style, and carry her to my gang's private clinic.
"Check up," I told a nurse the moment I saw one. She nods. "Just put her in one of the rooms and a doctor will be right there." She said. I nod and sit her on the bed, against her silent protests. "I don't need a check-up, I'm perfectly fine." Hoodie Girl tells me, her voice breaking near the end.
She knows that she's lying, but won't admit. "You're not alright," I tell her, insisting. I cup her face as I hear the doctor walk in. "But you will be," I whisper to her before letting go and having the doctor check her out. The doctor had to take X-rays, tests, and more tests. I waited forever outside of her hospital room door.
The doctor, Dr. Jacobs, finally comes out. "She fell asleep during one of the tests, so you can go in later, but you have to be quiet." He says. "What's her name?" I ask, so I'd no longer have to call her Hoodie Girl. "Rebecca." He answers. Rebecca, what a beautiful name. I wonder why she hates people to know it.
"What do the tests say?" I ask, nervous, worried, and slight anger was forming into a boulder in my stomach. "Rebecca has 3 broken ribs, a broken arm, broken leg, shattered ankle, broken hand, bruises old and new, cuts from what looks like herself and others, along with burns and a slight concussion." Dr. Jacobs answers.
I nod, hoping that was it, but he gives me a sad, apologetic look. "There are also signs of rape." He finished and ran from me, everyone ran out of the room. Smart people. I punch the closest wall to me, but not the walls to her hospital room. I can't believe it. Who would want to do something like this to a girl as gorgeous as her?
I finally stopped smashing walls, leaving holes in all the walls I did. I walk into her room, she's sleeping peacefully in the hospital bed, bandaged everywhere, leg elevated, all scars and bruises that weren't bandaged, visible. I sat by her bed and took her hand that wasn't broken in mine.
"I swear to you, Rebecca," I whisper to her as I kiss her hand gently, "I'll kill anyone who comes near you. I swear you won't be hurt anymore."
