A/N : School is almost over, so I am probably going to updating a lot more often.
"I'm not really sure where to begin," Blake muttered quietly, his hands twisting and twirling together. "So, I was talking to Bashtian earlier on the bus and ...... " Carmin nodded her head encouragingly, but that didn't seem to do anything. Blake looked lost. He was staring at one of the branchs of the trees, his eyes drifting slowly. "I don't know how to explain it. It's like ..... when someone is really sick, there is bacteria all over inside their body. Remember how Mrs. Herts had a really bad cold? The bacteria in her body could have combined with the bacteria from the bite, thus making her explode," Blake said matter of factly. Carmin couldn't help but giggle. And then it turned into a chuckle. And then she started laughing so hard her sides hurt.
Blake glared at her and said, with an angry edge to his voice, "Do you have a better idea, smart one." Carmin's laughter slowly dissipated, but the smirk on her face was still very much visible. Blake scowled at her and said," I don't suppose you might have a hypothesis about it, do you." Carmin shrugged her shoulders, but now she looked perturbed. Angry, even. She frowned at him, her eyes boring into the side of his head as he avoided her eyes.
A minute or two passed before Blake said anything else. "Well, that's just something I was pondering over. It could be something else, like ... mmm... you health. Your immune system, if it was weak, you could have worse things happen to you then just turning into one of them. Just look at what happened to Mrs. Herts, and who knows how many others," Blake's voice shook slightly as he remembered the grotesque seem that had played out only a few hours ago.
"You know, no one mourned her. No one really cared that she died." Carmin looked at him sadly, all of her earlier spirit was gone, replaced by a deep depression that was slowly taking hold of her mind. She nodded very faintly, her shoulders hunched against the hard bark of the pine tree. Blake cleared his throat, wanting to continue talking, but before he could say a word, Carmin rasied her hand to silence him. She pointed her finger in the dirt and proceeded to right, again. Dirt can really come in handy sometimes. This is what she wrote :
So, if you have a very poor immune system, you explode, or dissipate, or whatever the hell happened earlier?
Blake grinned, his eyes lighting up as he started imagining what caused the previous chaos.

Carmin and Blake stayed there, discussing explanations for what might have happened if it was somebody else and not Mrs. Herts, for about 10 minutes before they decided to go back to camp before anyone started wondering where they were. Granted that they were sitting behind some trees that were only a few yards away from the bus, but if you don't see anyone for at least half an hour, you usually consider them dead, or dying.
By the bus, there adults talking about defense systems against a future attack, but the beasts were so unpredictable that it was practically useless. Carmin and Blake passed them, walking towards a small cluster of Blake's tree friends. Carmin smiled when she saw Amya, her long brown hair knotted in multiple places and her face smudged with dirt, but at least she was still alive and breathing. When Amya spotted Carmin and Blake walking towards her, her face lit up like a candle, her face changing from slightly gloomy to absolute joyful. She rushed over to the twosome and greeted them both with a big bear hug, but it only lasted for about .6 seconds.
"Where have you guys been! I've been looking for you both ever since we got off the bus," Amya chirped happily, her pale brown eyes dancing back and forth between Carmin and Blake. Carmin gestured toward Blake, who was trying to explain without it coming out wrong.
"I asked Carmin to come find me after we got off the bus, so I could talk to her about what happened earlier to Mrs. Herts," Blake said, his expression painfully serious. Amya shuddered violently, her whole body shaking with distaste.
"That was so .... disturbing," she whispered quietly. Blake nodded.
Amya shook her head and sighed, her arms fidgeting nervously, as if she didn't like the topic they were discussing, which she probably didn't. They were still standing near the grove of trees, the leaves fluttering in the light breeze. Amya sat leaned against one of the smaller pine trees, her hands on her knees.
Carmin sat down in front of her, waiting to hear if she had anything to say. Blake hesitantly sat dwon next to her, almost as silent as her.
After a moment of silence, broken only by the sound of the other kids chatting nearby, Amya sniffed and said, with a rather shaky voice," Did you guys figure it out. I mean, about what happened?"
Blake glanced sideways at Carmin for help, like maybe she could make up a good lie, or even sugar coat it, but Carmin just shook her head. "Well...... we think it might have something to do with your immune system, like if your sick, you could just ....... evaporate."
Carmin rolled her eyes at how rediculous it sounded, but of course, it was the truth. Blake cleared his throat, his jaw clenched. "There was also something else ..... we think they might be evolving." Carmin stared at Amya, expecting a huge reaction, like gasping or grabbing her head, or even throwing up, but all Amya did was nod.
"There have been rumors going around about that. I didn't think they were true, of course, but when you say it, it sounds so true. Believable," Amya mumbled under her breath, her eyebrows creased in concern.
Amya was about to say more, but was interrupted by the sound of a car horn.
