George picked me up with his strong arms.
"Where's the bedroom?"
"Upstairs. First door on your left."
He nodded and carried me to bed. He gently rested me on my bed and tucked me in. He went in next to me and wrapped his arms around me from behind.
"Goodnight, (Y/N)."
I grinned, closing my eyes. "Goodnight, Joji."
I fell asleep in peace. It was the best I'd ever slept. I didn't dream, but I woke up late for work. I could tell because my phone woke me up to my boss calling me. George was nowhere to be found. I frowned as I picked up.
"Hello? Sorry Shelley, I overslept. Yeah, I know... I'll get there soon. Y-yeah I'm okay... I had a rough night... yeah. Okay, bye."
I sighed, running my fingers through my hair. Why did I think he'd stay?
I got up and brushed my teeth. My thoughts went rampant. Maybe he's in the kitchen making breakfast? Or he went out to buy me something? Why did he leave...
I took a shower and got dressed, rushing to the kitchen in the hopes that he was there.
"Joji?" I asked before my heart shattered into pieces.
The kitchen was empty. George just barged into my home and left. No text message, no notes, not even a cold breakfast. He was gone as soon as he came.
I sighed and grabbed a hot pocket to microwave. I was too sad to cook breakfast and I was late to work anyway. I waited for the microwave snack to finish cooking, then grabbed it along with my bag, my keys, and my phone, and headed out the door. After I locked the door, I headed to my car and drove to work. As I did so, I bit into my hot pocket. Though it was hot enough to burn me when I picked it up, it was cold when I bit into it.
Ah, hot pockets. The World's Greatest Microwave Snack.
What a great addition to my already heartbreaking day. Work was terrible. I could tell Shelley was upset, but she saw that my heart was broken. She spared me her stern talk and let me go on with my day. The day was a busy one, and every moment was spent with a customer, sometimes two at once. I almost didn't have time for break, but Callie insisted I have one.
She sat down with me. "(Y/N), what's wrong babe? Something shitty happened yesterday, I know it."
I sighed, rubbing my cheeks in frustration. "George..."
She rolled her eyes, "Don't even finish, hun. I don't need to know."
"But you don't get it... last night I was with all three of them, but Ian and Max left me alone with him. And... He was actually nice..."
"Okay..." Her eyebrows furrowed, "And?"
"I said something rude to him and then he ended up at my house... then... He kissed me? But I was okay with it... and I let him sleep over."
Callie grunted and shook her head. "And that's when you woke up this morning to find he was gone."
I frowned and nodded, tearing up. She sighed and hugged me.
"I know the feeling all too well, honey. You can't trust a man like him. Tell ya what, we'll head down to the bar tonight and we'll get some drinks on me, huh?"
I nodded in silence. I wasn't much of a drinker... but I needed something to get my mind off of this whole deal. I looked at the clock.
"Break's over, Cal. So we're meeting at..."
