A/N: I hope you have as much fun reading this as I did writing it. This request was a nice change of pace! This one's a big boi, whew! I don't think this needs to be said, but I don't tolerate homophobic comments on my stories. It's not just shitty, but I'm also part of the LGBTQ+ community, go figure. Don't do it, I'll block you. Anyway, enjoy 💜

My hands were in my pockets, walking cautiously in search for ice as my boots crunched through the bright snow. I was starting to drift off into thought about it, like how nice it is to see a fresh batch of the stuff, how it's smooth and glittery. I looked out at the layer that covered the park. Then I wondered about making the perfect snowball, like the way they had that challenge with the aluminum foil balls. So polished and perfect... I guess you'd have to start by using a freezer or something like that-

A snowball to the face brought my thoughts to a halt. Turning around in the direction it came from, I catch a mischievous grin from none other than my best friend Joji.

"Oh you bitch, I will destroy you!" I bantered before picking up some snow and preparing for battle.

Before I continue to tell my story, let me get one thing out of the way so that you're not surprised later: I'm a guy who likes other guys. I know you hear all those romance stories about girls and them longing for romance and all that stuff, but guys can want that stuff too. Not just gay guys mind you, there's plenty of straight guys who are hopeless romantics. But I'm not here to lecture you, I'm just here to recount my experiences.

My snowball connects with Joji's coat, giving off a "pff" sound.

"That's what I thought you said, but let me offer this as a rebuttal!"

Joji memes around like he tends to do as he throws another snowball. This one hit different though, it felt hard like it had melted into ice. I looked down to see that he put a rock in this one.

"Bro that's cheating, you can't do that!" I say as I combat his advances with another snowball, one free of any rocks or tricks of that variety, "In all seriousness though that shit hurts."

"Yo come on man, it's more fun though."

"Nah, for real people get hurt that way."

"You wanna talk about getting hurt?"

He rushes in and tackles me into a wrestling match. In his fake rage he pins me with my face in the snow. I break free and shove some snow in his face as a distraction so I can get the upper hand.

"Oh shit, time out, time out, time out-

"Bullshiiiit! You always call time out when I have the upper hand." I say as I pin him down.

"Aaaagh, for real like, you're hurting me."

"Come on, I'm not even pinning you down that hard..." Even so, I trust his words, getting up slowly to be ready if he takes off.

Surely enough he smirks and throws snow in my face, booking it to the lake.

"Siiiiimp!" He yells, "Caught you simpin'!"

I grunt at his callout, "I'm not simpin', I just don't want to pay for your hospital bills."

And with that, I chase after him, slowing down as I see him sit by the edge and feed bread to the ducks.

"Bread is bad for them," I say as I pull out a pack of frozen peas from my pocket.

I invited him here, so I anticipated the need for frozen peas as I know he likes to feed them, but he never has peas so he brings bread instead, despite my constant corrections.
