" No that wasn't the deal!" I said into the phone aggravated.

"Either come get us both or leave me in my own house!" My mom yelled back to me.

I hung up. I had been on the phone with my mother for a hour this morning, trying to convince her to come stay here with me  since the shootout at her house.

There was no talking to that women. She said she would only agree if my brother would be able to stay too. Im guessing he is going to be around for a while now, but Im not the Holiday Inn.

Fuck it! I needed my mother safe at all times and whether she realizes it or not Kirk won't be able to protect her.

I had more than enough room here, and I could watch her better if we were under the same roof. I shot her a quick test letting her and Kirk know to start packing.

I slung open the fridge door grabbing a water bottle and making a mental note to go grocery shopping before picking them up.

DEYLA POV

"Hey mommy! I miss you!!" I ran into my mom's arms and embraced her, which took me back to memories of being five or six years old again

"Hey mommy! I miss you!!" I ran into my mom's arms and embraced her, which took me back to memories of being five or six years old again.

Over the past few weeks me and my mother put all our differences aside and decided on giving our relationship another try.

It was Thursday which meant my cousins from Houston were flying in, I haven't seen them since we were younger.

My oldest cousin Denise was my favorite, we use to have a bond stronger than her and her own sister. Everything changed when they moved away me and Denise talked less and less, her sister on the other hand was somewhat of a outcast. She purposely separated herself from Denise and I, for her group of friends.

She always acted way older than she was, and by that I mean too damn grown. Hopefully time has changed Mariah, if not I had no interest in hanging around her.

"Dey! Are you listening to anything I said!" My mom snapped me out of my thoughts.

"Yea! Of course.." I shook my head acknowledging her.

"Okay.... soooo???" She fished for a answer to whatever she asked me.

"Umm..sure." I agreed not having a clue what we were talking about.

"Good they will be here this afternoon then you can show them around." She said walking away.

"Wait.. what? No mom I have plans maybe I can bring Denise with me.. but Mariah...I don't know."

"Dey you just said you would!" She gave me a disappointed pout.

"Fine, see you later!" I pecked her cheek and left out the front door.

My mind wondered as I backed out of the small parking space in front of my mom's complex.

If mom is making me come around for them, that most likely means my sister would be here too. I rolled my eyes at the thought, Im not here for the drama today and now I didn't want to come back alone.

Maybe Eric is free, shit I'll even drag Des along with me if it means I wont be stuck there by myself.
