August Pov

"Police say the shootout took place early this morning downtown in a small urban community."

I directed my attention towards the flat screen as I watched the reporter walk around at the scene.

"That look like yo mom's street." Des pointed from the other side of the couch.

I held my hand up silencing my boys for a moment to hear the news.

"Unfortunately the victims house was raided but she was able to come out of the situation alive."

I leaped out of my seat when I saw my mothers face come across the screen.

"Lets roll out." I commanded. I had about five of my main niggas from the trap with me.

It was super bowl Sunday and I planned on having a small get together at the crib, but first I needed to deal with this shit.

I didn't understand why my mom wouldn't call me. I checked my phone just in case I missed her call....Nothing.

I drove for ten minutes more before slinging my car into the driveway and parking behind the new Mercedes I bought her.

I could feel my face twisting up in anger.
"Yo what the fuck ma? Why you ain't call me?"

She turned around quickly, whipping her neck in my direction. " I know you better watch your mouth!" She pointed reaching towards my face. " Its already being handled." She mumbled.

"By who?" I questioned her, not liking her response.

Before she could open her mouth, I watched as her house door opened and out walked my brother.

My brother.... We haven't seen or heard from him in years, now he just pops back up and everything is cool.

He nodded his head in my direction greeting me as I shot him a unit.

"Won't be none of that!" My mom snapped at me.

Wow! I should have known when she didn't call. She always considered my brother to be better than me. He went to college and played ball there for a few years before changing his major to Law. Growing up he was my mom's favorite and after my dad left she took all her anger out on me, but my brother was like her medicine. When ever it came down to her needing help she called him.

Except when she needed money, then I mattered again. Little did she know my brother got into trouble a few times himself, but always managed to escape it with his law degree.

"Kirko wassup man." I mugged des as him and my brother dapped each other up.

" Don't be dappin this police ass nigga." I told des on our way back to the car.  I had nothing I wanted to say to him. I remember just about a year ago he was the reason I got locked back up, It be your own people sometimes.

My mom wanted kirk to handle this beef shit, so I was going to let him Chance is his problem now. I dropped des off at the main trap to start preparing the crew for the big shipment we had coming in.

I met this broad a few weeks back who happened to be moving here from overseas in Puerto Rico. Her father was one of the largest traders there and she managed to hook me up with one of their connects.

I let the boys out of the Suv and pulled off into the direction of my house. Before I got halfway home I whipped the car around and decided to give Deyla a visit, I told her I was going to try with her and I planned on doing just that.

I stood outside of my car and gave myself a prep talk before climbing the stair to her apartment. "Ight this is it, get your girl back my guy." I spoke to myself outloud before running my hands over my hair and knocking loudly on her door.

I stood back for a moment and waited for her to open up.

"August? What are you doing here?" She asked surprised.

"I just thought maybe we could chill, maybe smoke or something.. I have nothing to do today." I told her nervously.

"Umm.. now is not a good time." She gave me a fake pout.

"My bad.. I should have called first or something."

I could hear someone shuffling around in the background as we spoke. I started to peak around her head to see what had her occupied.

"Yea.. I gotta go." She started to slowly close the door. I stuck my foot in between the door frame, stopping her from closing it.

"Dont play with me deyla.. Who in there?" I asked. I could feel myself getting angry.

"None of your business!" She shoved me slightly before trying to close the door again.

I pushed the door hard making her stumble backwards into the wall. She jumped on me from behind and wrapped her arms around my neck slightly choking me.

"Move!" I yelled as I slung her down unto the couch.

"Yo!" I yelled outloud to get the attention of whoever was in her apartment.

"Hey how are ya." A older man peered from around the corner. I starred at deyla blankly watching as she pulled four crisp bills out and handed it to him.

"Your good to go miss, I replaced some of the pipes, but that should do it." He told her.

"Thanks again!" She replied as he left, closing the door on his way out.

Deyla turned to me and folded her arms across her chest and pursed her lips up as if she was saying "I told you so".

I couldn't help but to laugh at myself. I was about ready to kill somebody, and it was just a plumber.

"My bad." I choked out over my laughs.

"Its not funny! This jealousy shit needs to stop, Your not even my man.. Shouldn't I be the one with the trust issues." She ranted on and on before I reached out and grabbed her aggressively pulling her into me and kissing her lips.

"What are you—!!!" She pulled away continuously yelling, before I pulled back in again kissing her harder than before.

"Deyla I love you....Im in love with you... Give me anotha chance.... be my baby again!"

She starred at me with a look I've never seen from her before as we stood apart from each other.

"Bae did he fix it yet?" Someone called from the back room. I heard footsteps before Eric came into the living room, and wrapped his arms around deyla's waist from behind."

I glanced at Deyla who had a sadden look in her eyes, as I felt mine burn. I won't cry over no bitch I thought to myself.

I nodded my head a few times and made my way out of her place.

I guess I really don't deserve another chance.... This time I'll just leave her alone....
