Frisk always seemed like a girl to me but you can change that yourself if you don't like it.

__________

Most of the monsters who wanted to live on the surface have been relocated now, which is good for them. Some still live in the underground, and I don't blame them. It's been their home for so long now. I managed to catch a glimpse of them when they were descending the mountain, I couldn't see much but most of them looked quite humanoid. That kid Frisk was there too. I've seen her moving back and forth from the cave to the town quite often over the past week. She's really nice as far as I can tell. The kinda person I would try to make friends with if I had the chance. She used to go to dance class, and I've seen her in the dressing rooms before the annual shows.

in school assembly~

This week it is the deputy head's turn to speak. She takes her place on the podium. Her fragile frame stands as a contrast to the head's. Our head teacher used to be a bouncer before he got his current job. It seems like a bit of an odd jump between careers, but he's good at his job nonetheless. after everyone hushes, she speaks. "as you may have seen, some of the monsters have found new homes on the outskirts of the town. we have yet to be informed on the effect these monsters will have on this school, but we do know that if these monsters are to not attend education here, they will be accustomed to their own private school nearer to their residence."

I bet they'd have a much better education there than in this school, and I don't see why anyone believes that it's impossible for them to come here. We're low budget, I get that, but if the monsters are coming to any pre-existing school, it would be this one over the snobby rich kids in the school on the other side of town. It doubles as a boarding school for foreign students to come in from other countries, that's how posh it is. I forgot to listen to the rest of assembly.

time skip (I don't want to bore you to death too early into the story)~

My dad is at work right now and he won't be home until late at night, and my mum is off on a hen night so she'll be back tomorrow. Not to mention she'll be drunk as a skunk by the evening and will end up in bed for the rest of the day tomorrow. I'm still in my uniform but I brought some leggings and a top with me so that I can change into them in the public toilets on the way home. It costs 20p to enter the toilets. It's expensive enough to complain about, but not enough to go to one of the cafes or restaurants to use instead.

So I leave the toilets and head the rest of the way to the walking path. there's nothing to see down there, I just like looking out towards the vast nothingness and feeling nothing but a calming breeze. (I'm trying to not be edgy or basic but it's just too hard). it's quiet there, the perfect kind of quiet so that you can't make out the voices of other people, but you kinda know they're still there somewhere. I follow up the path. The path would eventually lead me up and around to the end of town opposite Mt Ebott. Its where all of the new council houses have been built for the monsters.

I have my art homework with me, so I find a bench to sit down on and I pull out my sketchbook. I draw the surrounding flowers and study where the light casts its shadows in the different positions I make. A thrush perches itself on a tree opposite and lets out peaceful chirps to its hidden friends. it's a beautiful day outside. Bloody marvellous if you ask me.

The sound of footsteps causes me to stop drawing. To avoid contact I keep my head down at the paper, but I look up with my eyes. 'A monster'.

Now, it's times like these where anything can happen. I could keep my head down, and let him walk straight past me without a second thought. He might say hello anyway, he probably won't. I could say hello first .He may be kind, or he may be hostile. We could be the best of friends or mean nothing to each other. I think about the future a lot, what might happen, what might not, what could have happened if just one thing went differently. You don't have time to stop and think about this while it's all happening, you just have to react.
