I think the biggest issue people have with the monsters is that we don't have much of a problem with ourselves anymore. It wasn't long ago when wars within humanity were constantly occurring. There was no prejudice anymore. We had finally found a way for everybody to feel equal.

However, it is human instinct to try to be superior to our peers. And whilst we had found a way to live peacefully amongst each other, the monsters acted as some people's springboard back to our old habits.

I'm not going to lie, the fact that the monsters can't leave this town has proven to be quite an issue for the humans here. This place isn't very big, granted it has more than one supermarket and a couple of clothing stores, but it's a major hassle for us to get in or out. For a starter, all of the residents here have been given a special stamp for our passports, and we have to carry them around with us everywhere we go. Nobody without a passport can enter or leave. I usually visit my auntie and uncle once a month but they can't pick us up cos they live in Brynmawr and don't have a bloody stamp. The only vehicles allowed in are company vans for the shops up town, and even they need to be inspected cos people might want to smuggle themselves in to gawk at the monsters.

The Royal Mail only comes around half as often too, which pisses off the old people who want their monthly Readers Digest two days earlier than they're getting it. All this gets blamed on the monsters, cos it's their fault that they're not allowed to leave the town, and it's their fault that they were trapped underground for so long, and it's their fault that those old people are forced to read The Sun instead of Readers Digest for a day.

But I mean, I can't decide whats best for the world. Frisk is doing a pretty good job as the monster ambassador, but she is only young, and it's a big role to play.

It's Saturday morning, I should text Sans.

(Y/N)--> Hey sans, it's (Y/N) from yesterday :P

I leave my phone on my bed while I take a shower. I'm not expecting him to reply straight away, but he didn't seem like the kind of person to not reply at all. Since yesterday I have been feeling a lot happier than usual. It's been a while since I have managed to really connect with someone, even if it was just for a brief exchange of jokes. the friends I currently have, it's like their not my proper friends, we just hang out so that none of us are alone.

Okay, I know that's not healthy, but it's nice sometimes to be around someone else. You attract more unenjoyable attention when you're on your own. People ask if you're okay or need some sort of emotional support. Sans didn't do that though. He knew that you don't have to talk to another person all the time. It's just better when you do. I've been thinking about him a lot.

Surely enough, when I return to my room and check my phone, I can see that Sans has replied to me.

Sans--> knock knock :)

(Y/N)--> Who's there? ;)

Sans--> broken pencil :D

(Y/N)--> Broken pencil who? c:

Sans--> nevermind, it's pointless *badum tss*

(Y/N)--> haha, *applause*

Sans--> what are you doing today? :o

(Y/N)--> I have nothing planned :D

Sans--> wanna come over and meet my friends?

(Y/N)--> Oh, yeah. Where shall I meet you? :)

Sans--> the park near the estates? I'm pretty sure monsters are allowed there

(Y/N)--> Sounds good, so I'll be there in an hour?

Sans--> yep, i'll be waiting there with my bro

(Y/N)--> see you then :D

Sans--> whoop ;P

I tell my parents that I'm going to Amy's soon. They wouldn't want me meeting someone I barely know, monster or not. I mean, the monsters do seem more passively kind than the average human, but at the same time, they're not in the position to harm any humans without expecting a kick in the balls for their entire race.

Time skip~

Once I'm dressed and ready, I head out the house. I have my phone in my pocket and a charger in my backpack along with a bottle of water and a raincoat (just in case). The park is only a minute walk from my house, so I don't bother taking my headphones with me.

Sure enough, Sans had arrived before me. He's sitting on the park bench inside the play area, watching a larger skeleton trying to operate a see-saw on their own. His classic, fixed smile is plastered on his face. As I walk along the path towards me.

A smile grows on my face, a happy smile. The kind of smile you give to someone when you are genuinely glad to see them. That's because I am. I'm not sure what it is. It's most likely another platonic crush, they're not uncommon with me. Maybe I'm just in need of someone to talk to, like proper talk to.

He waves at me, and I wave back. This catches the attention of the larger skeleton, who I'm guessing is probably his brother, Papyrus or something like that. Monsters do have odd names. Papyrus stands up and strikes a pose, facing me. His red scarf flows in the light wind. It seems as if another thought comes to his mind and he turns to face Sans.

"SANS. IS THIS THE HUMAN YOU HAVE BEEN TALKING ABOUT?" he says. He spoke really loudly, but I could sense a bit of worry in his voice.

"Sure is, Pap," sans replies. Papyrus smiles at this, and he then jumps back into his dramatic pose.

"GREETINGS HUMAN. IT IS I, THE GREAT PAPYRUS" he speaks again. I approach him and hold out my hand.

"Nice to meet you Papyrus, my name is (Y/N)"

These chapters are getting too long, and I'm a very slow writer so most 'days' will probably be split in two. I will try to publish more.

ok bye
