This is still Danny's POV but it'll soon change to the readers
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~(Y/n) and I were in the car in silence as I drove. I didn't know what to say at the moment, all I wanted to do was hug her and comfort her but I didn't want to add more to the problem.
(Y/n) looked out the window into the darkness, silently crying and she sniffled multiple times. I sighed quietly. "I'm really sorry that you had to go through that, (Y/n)... If I knew you'd go home to that.. I would've kept you out longer or something.." I said to her, but all I got in reply was silence.
I continued the drive to my house. I didn't want her going back to that jerk. He hurt her and just thinking about it pissed me off.
We soon made it to my drive way. I turned off the car and got out. Heading over to (Y/n)'s side I opened her door. "Hey, we're here.. Let's get inside." After a few moments she got out, looking down at her feet as she stood in front of me.
"It'll be okay, (Y/n). Don't let that jerk get to you, it hurts, I know. But good things will come from it in the future," I told her. "How about we go watch a movie and I'll make some popcorn. We can have a movie night. It'll be totally free and hey, free is always better." I chuckled awkwardly.
Yet again, I was met with silence. I honestly didn't know what else to say and I didn't want to make it awkward. All of a sudden (Y/n) lifted up her head and looked at me. The moonlight casted on her face perfectly, but all I could see was sadness. I felt crushed, noticing her red and swollen eyes, her cheeks stained with tears. I then noticed her eyes watering up, her lips curling up as she started to bawl.
"Damn it, (Y/n)-" I quickly embraced her. I wrapped my arms around her tightly as I held her close. It was quiet between us. I felt (Y/n)'s soft grip on my jacket, sinking her head into my chest. I heard her quietly cry into my jacket as I continued to hold her, caressing her hair. "It'll get better, I promise. I fucking promise, (Y/n). I won't let you get hurt anymore," I started to let my emotions get to me. "You're so amazing and you deserve so much better. So please stop crying. No more hurting. I'll help you. It'll be a lesson learned."
"Thank you, Danny.." (Y/n) finally answered. "Thank you."
~Later that night~
(Y/n) crashed out on my couch a little bit after we got to my house. I had put on The Last Unicorn, an all time favorite of mine, for her to watch but when I got back with the popcorn she was fast asleep.
I set the popcorn down on the counter in the kitchen. I made my way to the living room, looking at (Y/n) as she slept. She looked peaceful. I leaned down as I carefully lifted her up off the couch. I carried her in my arms as I walked through the hall to my room. (Y/n) was my guest and I wanted her to feel welcome and comfortable here. I set her down on my bed gently, watching as she adjusted to the bed.
I smiled to myself a bit. (Y/n) had gone through a lot today. I leaned down and kissed her forehead softly. I really hoped that better things came her way. I wanted to see her smile like she did tonight. Her smile was a warm feeling, it cured any sickness. I couldn't understand how anyone could break her heart, but I knew that I would never to that do her. (Y/n) was truly something to cherish.
