Chapter Four

Chapter 4:
Game On

🌻 Alexis's POV 🌻

I stared at my now ex-boyfriend for a minute then snapped back into reality. Shooting a look towards Maddie, I get a grip on her arm and pull her aside towards the front door. "Maddie, why didn't you tell me mason was your next door neighbor!" I muttered under my breath.

"I didn't know he was mason; Infact, I just knew him as my cute neighbor."

"Cute?! How could you not realize that was him? Have you not seen a picture of him!" I whisper screamed, shaking my head slightly and looking into her hazel eyes. Which were more green than brown at the moment.

That was when Maddie pushed me off her.

"Look Alex, I don't know what's going on but you need to chill. Like you said, your over him so it doesn't really matter."

I nodded sighing.

"Your right, I'm sorry for shaking you and getting in your face."

She accepted my apology and we both hugged it out.

"Why don't you go meet him. He looks like he could use a friend." I said with a forced smile plastered on my face.

🌺Maddie's POV🌺

I walked over next door, trying to be as normal as possible. I tapped him on the shoulder hoping I didn't scare him. The tall figure standing before me turned around with his shaggy, sweat-soaked hair still standing in a perfectly gelled quiff, looking straight at me.

"Hey." Mason spoke softly while running his hand through his hair.

"Hey I'm Madison! You can call me Maddie though. Im the next door neighbor."

"Oh yeah, that's right. I've seen you before."

All I could think about were his mesmerizing eyes, how amazingly blue they were. They reminded me of the smooth waters of the ocean on a sunny day. We both shared a simple smile of interest.

"Yeah. I see you all the time, I thought it was about time to go ahead and introduce myself." I tucked a strand of hair behind my ear, lightly smiling at him.

"Hey, what do you think about hanging out sometime. Maybe get to know each other better than just neighbors?"

"Yeah, here's my phone number so we can talk more."

I gave him my number and smiled. He stroked my cheek softly and I felt safe, as if he was my guardian.

Alexis and I were lazily binge watching American Horror Story while stuffing popcorn in our mouths when my phone interrupted my focus. Glancing down at my phone, I seen that it was an unknown number and I immediately picked my phone up.

Unknown: hey
its mason (:

I quickly saved the number to my contacts under "mason ♡"
and then replied soon after, whilst trying not to let Alex see my phone

Madison: heyy (:

Mason♡ : what's up?

Madison: just binge watching American horror story, what's up with you?

Mason ♡: awe that's my favorite show too. Nothing really just laying down looking at my window...wait aren't our windows across from each other?
