The next hour was spent talking about Izuku and Katsuki's love life, which was composed of a bunch of lies thrown together by the two on the spot.
Mito found it extremely endearing, the story of boys who grew up together, only to drift apart until being reunited as they train to become heroes.
Izuku felt nostalgic and yet relaxed in the Bakugou household. He had spent a considerable amount of time there in his childhood and not much had changed. There was still a small dent in the wall beside the fridge from when Katsuki convinced Izuku that it would be fun to spin around in his dad's office hair as fast as they could.
It was fun, until Katsuki fell off and dislocated his shoulder. Izuku was the only one that cried too. There was also still a small burn mark on the floor from the time Izuku finally beat Katsuki at dominoes, and Katsuki was not happy about it.
The evening was going smoothly as it could, when rivals Izuku Midoriya and Katsuki Bakugou are forced to 'be in love.'
There was the one time when Katsuki almost yelled 'Fucking Deku' but caught himself and yelled "Ffffffffffrick Izuku you're...so...c-cute" instead.
Izuku almost cried.
Halfway through dinner, Mitsuki put down her chopsticks harshly on the table and shot Katsuki a look.
"Katsuki Bakugou, where are your damn hearing aids?" she questioned with an unamused expression.
"Don't worry about it Ma. Not now," Katsuki was twitching slightly.
Izuku sent him a look of concern which was only returned by a scowl.
"No. Listen here ya brat. I am not going to let my son go fucking deaf by age 20. Get the things in your damn ears." Mitsuki glared at her son as she spoke.
Katsuki stomped off, a string or cusses leaving his mouth as his palms sparked.
Izuku sighed. Kasuki's facade of being nice could have only lasted so long anyways.
Meanwhile, Mito looked shocked at her family's behavior. Masaru continued to eat, for this fight took place every time his son came to visit home for a weekend.
Izuku didn't talk very much for the rest of the meal. He was still trying to process the hearing aid situation.
Shortly after dinner finished, he helped Mitsuki with the dishes as Katsuki continued to try and entertain his clearly offended grandmother.
"I'm sorry you got dragged into this Izuku," Mitsuki sighed. "I know that Katsuki is a little brat, but he hasn't had it easy, ya know?"
Izuku could only nod in response.
Deku thanked Mitsuki again for the meal and bid goodnight to everyone, ready to go home and sleep. It was only a few minutes past 20:00, but today was one of the most exhausting Izuku had experienced.
He gave Katsuki a confused look as he saw him also lacing up his shoe laces.
"Well I'm obviously gonna walk you home, I'm not gonna be a shitty boyfriend," Katsuki sighed. "Stupid Deku."
