"We can't hold them off forever!" Zoey hears as it echos through her ears as she is gaining conscience.

"Luis watch your back!" Leon says as he rushes over and swings a wooden bat on someone.

Luis bends down on his knee from the amount of pain he has from his wounds. "Take them head on." He says slowly getting up.

Brian swiftly turns around Sarah who is running to Zoey and shoots those ahead of him. "Grab her and move now!"

Luis runs to cover leaving Leon and Brian behind. Sarah grabs Zoey and slowly takes her off the streets where she is safe. Shouts can be heard from both sides as they fight, Sarah rushes back to help them leaving Zoey behind. She watch's them clash in a never ending battle where at some points looking like her friends are losing, she grabs her hammer she held onto for dear life and tried to slowly get up. Hearing someone running at her she turn to the left and swings at the man's leg, then to his head with the claws of the hammer. She searched him and found a handgun fully loaded, she takes it and slowly walks to the group fighting for dear life. She aims and shoots at the ones closer to them before running out, Luis shoots at a group heading at Zoey before being shot by a person out of view. Zoey ducked putting her hands above her head.

"Sniper!" Brian shouted as he ducked.

Luis squirms around in pain, coughing off blood before dying. "Luis!" Leon shouted.

Leon ran out of cover heading to them all as he swings his bat left and right before the sniper shoots at the ground in front of him. Leon dropped the bat and held his hands over his head. Soon followed Brian and Sarah doing the same causing a surrender that was taken by the military as they didn't want to fight with bullets but resulted to it for their safety. Zoey was the first to be zip tied followed by Sarah, Leon and Brian. All were lined up on their knees youngest to oldest. Zoey, Sarah, Leon than Brian at the far end.

"You killed sixteen of my men." A soldier said as he approached them.

"Didn't really gave us a choice." Leon said as he laughed.

The soldier pulls out a knife and points at Zoey. "Hang her now."

A group of people walk by her and stand her up and take her away.

"Actually, bring her here." He changes his mind.

They bring Zoey back and place her on her knees.

"We play Russian roulette." He unties everyone and make them sit in a circle and places his handgun. "One lives." Also adding.

Knowing that daring to try a move could kill them all Brian Spins the handgun that points at Sarah. Brian picks the gun up and points at Sarah a critical decision that could end all.

"Brian you wouldn't." She said as she slowly approach him.

He takes the handgun off safety. "I'm sorry." He shoots the soldier beside her and runs.

The sniper shoots at Brian but a change of wind occurs slightly drifting the bullet away from its target. Everyone runs to cover even the soldiers nearby as they pulled their rifles out. Loud noises can be heard coming through the walls not far from them.

"Runners." Zoey said as she ran fast.

Sarah, Leon and Brian followed behind her as Runners broke through the fence. Zoey makes a smart choice and heads into an apartment, once everyone is inside she looks around and sees a wooden cup collection nearby. She drags it with Leon rushing over to help and tops it over the door so no one can come in right away. They all head up the stairs and slightly hid for what felt like hours. Loud bangs can be heard from the door below until it flys open with a loud crash at the end. Strange screams as if there lungs are filled with water can be heard from below, Brain put his finger over his lips to warn the dangers that could turn against them. Zoey doesn't move but looks at the hallway and sees it. A person with no face just huge bubbles as if they had blisters that got worse instead of better. All those blisters overtime ripped his face leaving his teeth, parts of his body had blisters the size of tumors showing parts of the flesh where the skin once use to be. Zoey closes her eyes and listen as it chocked on water before leaving the apartment. Once knowing they were safe Leon stood up.

"That Zoey are what we call hunters just like Brian, they can't see but can smell and hear so know one type of blood you have dripping or not they aren't far." He stares out the window as the chaos unfolds.

Zoey throws up after seeing so much exposure to a body no one her age should see, Sarah walks over and rubs her back to try and comfort her and to remind her that they aren't humane but inhumane.

"We need to barricade the doors and windows before it's too late." Brian says.

Leon stepping in front of him. "We do that we'll all die."

Brian stepping back. "We'll die either way but something has to be done now!"

Screams can be heard after he shouts.

"Shouting isn't going to help Brian." Zoey said as she sat down.

"What'd you think we should do Zoey?" Brian asked.

Leon looks at Zoey. "We're safer the way we are."

Zoey doesn't choose but listens. "What if they come in our place or- worse?" Brian aruged back.

"Nothing isn't going to happen Brian." Leon says as he chuckles.

Zoey looks straight. "We move on at dark, most of them would be gone by then plus the military is just going to throw more soldiers here too so they can keep the sector." She then head for the couch that sits by the wall.

"That is the dumbest idea I had ever-." Brian tried to say.

"Isn't dumb if we need some rest." Zoey says as she kills time.

Brian looked at Sarah who is also killing time. "I can't believe-." He walks away before finishing his words.

Leon lays on the floor and relaxes with the choice they all need while Brian sits by the window before falling asleep.
