*Monday March 4, 2013*

Seven in the morning is entirely too early to have to get up for school. I get to see Jake, though, so that makes it all better.

I climb out of bed and go to do my morning routine.

I turn on some music and dance around my room as I get dressed. The silver bracelet dangles from my wrist as I pulled on several outfits.

Eventually, I settled for jeans and a tee shirt, the same thing I wore every day.

After making breakfast and eating it quickly, I left for school.  As a junior, I was allowed to drive to school.

I always got ready for school early so I could see Jake and spend some time with him.

I walked into the school and he’s waiting for me at my locker. “Hey, Sammie.”

“Hey, Jake.”

“You really changed up your wardrobe today, didn’t you,” he asked sarcastically.

“Well, I decided it was time for some change.”

“Sam, I was wonderingifyou’dliketogooutwithmethisFridaynight?”

“You said that so fast, it sounded like one big word.”

He took a deep breath and sighed, “I was wondering if you’d like to go on a date with me this Friday night.”

I smiled and looked up at him, “I’d love to.”

I slammed my locker shut and looked at him, “Walk me to class?”

“For you, I’d do anything.” He took my hand and led me to my class room.

Before walking inside, I turned to him, “Are we just going on a date or are we an actual couple?”

He grabbed my chin lightly and pulled my face towards him. His lips touched mine gently. Before I could push him away, the shock stung his lips. He held his mouth, “What the heck was that?!”

“I’m sorry, I should’ve warned you.”

“Warned me about what?”

I looked around to make sure no one was listening. “When I was a child, I had a curse put on me. I’m going to sound crazy now, but it’s true. Without this bracelet,” I gestured to my wrist, “I can’t be kissed or touched in any intimate way. I thought I couldn’t even hold hands, but I can.”

Jake stood there staring at me in awe, “None of this makes sense.”

“It’s my life and it doesn’t make any sense to me either.”

“You know what, I don’t care. I’ll survive anything it takes to be with you.”

“That’s not all of it. I’m not just going to give you the bracelet because you’re my boyfriend. I have to know that we really will be together forever before I hand over the most precious thing to me.”

“Can I ask you something personal?”

“Sure.”

“If you don’t wear it, can you touch yourself?”

I giggled, “I’ve never tried. But now that you mentioned it, I think I will.”

The bell shrilled. “Can I kiss your cheek?”

“Yes.” Jake kissed my cheek and we parted ways.

I went through the day without seeing Jake again.

I walked out to my car at the end of the day and saw him standing there.

I smiled, “Hey, you.”
